Yep, which is why Canada plays us that way.

Herdman is so damn good at getting a his players to execute a gameplan. How they play us is completely different with how they play Mexico and it has worked both ways.

One point back of us with a win.

Would be a hell of a choke, unlikely, but frick man, my confidence is probably lower than Pulisic's right now.

Yep, and I’m sure Mexico will find a way to win also. We’re likely to be in 3rd and one point clear going into Wednesday. Maybe we can get a Mexico-Panama draw. There’s going to be a lot of pressure for results in March.

Costa Rica just had a wide open header and the guy hit it right at Ochoa.

All because Greggg went with a B lineup at Panama. Too fricking smart for his own good!

Good, I hope the only game Mexico loses the rest of the way is to us at Azteca

Just need to regroup and be sure we get three against the worst team in the group Wednesday. But the March window will be way more interesting than it had to be. Could all come down to an away match in Costa Rica!

Good thing the USSF thought it would be a good idea to play that match in Minnesota in February.

Between the 0 degree weather and a injured/tired roster, that match has lackluster draw written all over it.

If we beat Honduras on Wednesday and Panama lose to Mexico in Azteca, that puts us 4 points clear of them. Assuming then we beat Panama in the next window, we'd be in regardless I believe. But right now, I'm not sure we can be sure of winning either of those.

Mexico is allowing Costa Rica to keep this a 5-team race.

0-0 in the 76th minute at the Azteca.

Costa Rica does... in fact... steal a point at Azteca

0-0 at Full Time

Mexico and Costa Rica finish 0-0.

So assuming Canada qualified, and Jamaica, Honduras and El Salvador are out, here's how things stand:

USA 18 PTS, +6 GD - vs Honduras, at Mexico, vs Panama, at Costa Rica
Mexico 18 PTS, +5 GD - vs Panama, vs USA, at Honduras, vs El Salvador
---------
Panama 17 PTS, +2 GD - at Mexico, vs Honduras, at USA, vs Canada
---------
Costa Rica 13 PTS, 0 GD - at Jamaica, vs Canada, at El Salvador, vs USA

Basically we just need to beat Panama at home and maybe have to draw at Costa Rica in the final match.

I think if we win both home games, and Panama loses the next game to Mexico, we’re in regardless of what else happens. Is that correct?

Probably, I was just talking about what is the bare minimum to do to qualify.

Actually looks like Costa Rica would need to lose or draw at least one
