Not that you’re arguing otherwise, but firing GGG was the only reasonable decision for US Soccer after the Copa debacle. It was foolish to hire him back after the WC in the first place.

Agreed.

And Poch was a good "go for it" hire, which is why I'm not going to celebrate a win over Jamaica like it's some big data point and use misinformation tweets to prop up a lackluster performance that turned into a win. I need more from him.

As things stand right now, we still have a scoring problem and depth problem... two things that we had with Gregg as well, but because we have a coach with pedigree and an accent, people are like "nah it's fine." frick that, the biggest chance to have the game explode in this country is less than 2 years away, and we already fricked the build-up to it by bringing back a lame duck coach and then making a change midway through. There can't be a slow build anymore, we need to see big time improvement else this will go down as a colossal failure.

Sure it was a friendly, but it was disconcerting how lackluster and at times, scared, we played against Mexico and at Jamaica we still lacked any killer instinct in the final third and would've lost if not for a penalty save, a handball in the box not being called and a crazy recovery to save a tap-in by Musah. We haven't been good for a while and it's worrisome with what's ahead and our player pool getting more stale with each passing game. We need fresh blood on the pitch in a bad way.

It seems like we have fans that think the hard part was accomplished with Poch replacing Gregg. Nope, all that did was bring in a coach who actually garners international attention which raises the pressure to succeed in your home World Cup even higher... that's a good thing that we're going for it, but it could blow up in our faces in a bad way if shite doesn't change and change fast.

No notes, I agree completely.

We have no depth and no one meaningful that seems to be emerging from the U23 level.

On top of that guys that should be taking a huge jump this cycle, just aren't. Pepi has stagnated big time since coming onto the scene last cycle while Musah, Aaronson and Richards have all seemingly gotten worse. Adams and Reyna can't stay healthy but because no one is really pushing them, they appear to be auto-inserts back into the XI once they are healthy, same goes for Dest whenever he gets back. That's a problem.

It's why during all the Gregg drama, I just kinda shrugged my shoulders. I never really liked him, but a new manager coming in was never going to be the main fix to the problems. I was (and am still) hopeful that bringing in someone like Poch would lead to new ideas right away, but so far his first three matches have been very meh.

This was my take away. We got way outshot by Jamaica. We looked less solid defensively. The main improvement I saw was that we had other attacking patterns than getting it to the wing and crossing into the box. Honestly that alone was a massive relief but the rest of what I saw was a bit concerning. That said, we got the W, and that counts for a lot because I feel people underestimate how hard road games are in concacaf.

Your act is tired and a big reason why this board isn't as fun anymore. All you do is show your insecurities by constantly derailing threads with some fake "I'm above it" attitude and try some misguided intelligence routine, when it's just not clever or funny at all. Take this thread for example, you didn't post in it until the dude you're obsessed with posted in it, all because he has a different opinion than you. Everyone was very cordial in this thread until your retarded arse showed up. You suck and are a representation of how far this board has fallen off from being TD's hidden gem.

Calm down, it’s a message board. Don’t take it so seriously.

Although, it is a hidden gem.
