I don’t know… I’m not trying to have a GK give up more possessions directly to the other team in our own half with an already anemic defensive squad.
At least Freese just boots the damn ball out of bounds farther upfield when he is being pressed.
Also, he doesn’t visibly seem to be shaken when doing so.
Turner looks like a baby giraffe with Parkinson’s when he is under pressure.

Still not as bad as Freese watching Kai and the cross waltz into the 6.
By every metric in league and international play, Turner is a better at keeping balls out of the goal than Freese.

You got sassy as hell with me not all that long ago for a few pages, back and forth.
You seem to have an attitudinal inferiority complex, fella… Intentionally veiled dismissing of other opinions, with the “veiled” portion only lasting a post or two in the “message board debate” before you get lippy.
I respect your views and soccer knowledge, but when presented like gospel and aimed at the perceived audacity of others to hold a contrary opinion, you come across as an entire arse.

Debates don’t involve name-calling and attacks on personal character/egos.
But you know that.
I think we’re just asking for a little bit of honest reflection from you, man. I don’t think you’re a bad person, but things tend to get tilted pretty quick with the way you put things into words as your opinion gets challenged by another.
I know my weakness is being a bottle rocket when someone gets snarky towards me. I do my best to muzzle it.
That’s the only real ask here from any of us.

Seriously, in this thread, I wasn’t snarky until Girth’s kingpin crack.
The only three dudes that I consistently get into it on here are Girth, Alyosha and SCH because I got painted as a Gregg homer when everyone wanted their pound of flesh, but I took the stance that it was more our players than Gregg.
You want honesty, my honest opinion is that I like talking sports and I will give my thoughts, people won’t agree with those thoughts, but I’m not going to relent just because someone has a different viewpoint, whether I’m wrong or right, I’ll say what I think… and maybe in the end the US will sneak into the quarters.
If faceless people on a message board don’t like me for that, I really don’t care.
