Yeah for sure it may end up backfiring spectacularly. But I do think you can see the benefits when it works.
I mean we just tore up arguably the best team in Africa. Should’ve scored at least 5 goals. Tore up the best team in Asia in Japan in September, could’ve easily scored 4-5.
The last year has shown in patches that when it works well we have a higher ceiling by far than under Gregg. But also much bigger risk of imploding and getting shellacked than under Gregg.

It's much more exciting, which is better from an entertainment standpoint and I guess that's all we as fans can ask for with this team.

One point to make in favor of Ream is that, on our opening goal, he made the initial pass that split two Senegal players and hit Pepi in stride before he played Pulisic in.
Not sure any of our CBs 1) attempt that pass or 2) put it in that spot if they do attempt it.

Sneaking Scally Through the Alley!

At this point I just want to replace Scally with Some frick and never call him back in.
He’s good for one or two absolute boneheaded plays per match.
Everytime I watch him I get the combination of awkward rage and wonder similar to watching Peyton Manning run.

That match was pretty unserious with the full team substitutions but regardless that was a great confidence builder. Could’ve easily scored 5+ goals and Senegal had only lost 1 of their previous 42 matches. That’s pretty unheard of in international soccer

Jedi shut down Ilman from Everton.
I watched every Everton match this year and attended three.
Nobody in the EPL shut that dude down by themselves.
Our team has got to be on cloud nine.

Ream cannot start. Captain or not he's just a step too slow now
It made perfect sense to name Ream captain of the squad. He's earned that, but did not perform well at all yesterday. My guess is he knows that and will contribute as a mentor mostly from the bench.

Super late to this one so it's probably already been said - but it's nice to see a stadium that large filled up by mostly US supporters.
Stadiums that large are usually empty or filled out by the supporters of larger teams.

Having rewatched the match, I need to amend this. I still stand by the second part of my post, but it in fact was Jedi, not Ream, who made the pass to Pepi.
Ream had a bad game yesterday.
