I think Landon will get the arm band in Brazil since this will likely be his USMNT farewell.

Jurgen doesn't even mention Landon when he talks about the USMNT's "core players". He will not wear the armband, although he should.

Why? Taking a months off to "find" yourself does not scream "leader" to me.

Ok, well if we're going off of stuff that happened in 2012, then Bocanegra should still be captain.

Portugal isn't that hard. Sit deep and deny Ronaldo space. Can they beat us, still? Yeah. But, don't make it easy.

Yup. Guess ESPN will give him a job since he is likely done.

Agreed. I'm more worried about Ghana than Portugal. With that said though, if Ronaldo is on his game, we are fricked.

Then he probably shouldn't be the captain and his starting spot should be in question.

I don't know about either. I'm always skeptical about who the captain is. Dempsey and Donovan have the most experience, and Dempsey is more vocal but I don't think it will make a big difference in the end. Howard would be my choice, though there is a fear of putting GK as captain in the belief they can't affect the game.

Certainly not. He's a languid player but I wouldn't call him lazy. It's just the way he plays. There is literally a tradition of the languid attacking player who uses short bursts of energy and good positional sense to get the better of opponents. We don't have the players to run a high pressure system anyway, and we need to rely on a deep line and pressing from the midfield and forwards at the halfway line, which all our players can do.

I think Timmy should be Captain too. It's a no-brainer decison in my opinion.

This is just idiocy.

Bradley should be captain, in all honesty.

I would prefer Donovan over Dempsey. I think Donovan is more vocal.
