$25,000 -- UEFA fine for Porto FC for racist chanting by fans

$82,000 -- the combined fines handed out by UEFA to the German, Croatian and Russian FAs for fans throwing flares and missiles on to the pitch

$126,000 -- UEFA fine for Bendtner for showing his underpants bearing a betting company's name -- and that's backed up with a one-game ban

I disagree about the Bendtner and Corluka penalty no-calls.

But the Bendtner fine is ridiculous, especially when you look at the miniscule amounts clubs and countries are fined for fan misbehavior.

Again I will point out Bendtner would have gotten less if he pulled a banana from his kit and slapped a black player with it. UEFA is a joke and their "hard" stance on racism is laughable.

My biggest gripe is the 1 match ban. The money is ridiculous but everybody knows the company will pay it. But why punish the team/country for something they didn't know about?

Because entire federations have been fined for less money for similar actions by fans.

I know, but I was continuing with the hyperbole.

And you just screwed it up, just like the salary thread on the MSB. GEEEEEZ.

The Bendter thing is a bit overboard. I agree. I don't mind them giving fines out to federations, bc their fans fricking suck.

Most of the time, the federations are the ones who hands out tickets to supporter groups anyways. So they have the ability to cut out some of the shite. The game is suppose to be fun and people offending people via bananas/racist chants/ and beating the frick out of stewards is not the way to do it.

That's the key here. Federations can't completley control their fans. Players can completley control their actions.

And for the record, Bendtner's punishment is too much.

I just have a problem with racism getting less punishment than a silly underwear ad.

Racist chants 80k fine. Commercial stunt 100k fine + 1 match ban... UEFA might need to review their order of priorities, don't you think?

Surely if you were a sponsor, you would consider racism as a more dangerous association than the dammage caused by commercial opportunism?

Ives wrote a story about neo-Nazi German fans against Denmark. That's some serious bullshite. Neo-Nazis would never root for today's German squad which features 2 Poles, Turkish player, half-Nigerian, Tunisian, etc.

Boateng is Ghanaian.

Bendtner has just styled all over the Meme awards for this tournament.

Balotelli was just punching the grass in frustration for being so shite compared to Beowulf.
