So I really like watching soccer. But I don't know where to start with watching and following teams. I really like France.
Suggestions?
Suggestions?

On this board, almost everyone is primarily an EPL fan which makes sense due to the language and their heavier marketing in the US. However, I'd be the first to say that it's a breath of fresh air when people follow other leagues and Ligue 1 is certainly a good league.
The problem, of course, is that you'll only find 1 or 2 matches a week on Fox Soccer but ESPN3 will offer a few more.
I'd just start to watch matches and maybe find a decent message board where you can lurk and get some news and see what team attracts you.

FRANCE??? FRANCE??? That's almost as bad as rolling on in here with a Mexican national jersey on, homeboy.

This. EPL is what you'll get here, hence the love.

Epl sucks go with the bundesliga

I have no qualms with France.
.
Go to an MLS match, and just watch whatever games you can. It's easier to find a club to support that way.
BUT frick YOU IF YOU PICK A TEAM I DON'T LIKE

Epl, mls, bundesliga, la liga. That's the order I watch them in. I like international play a lot too, and team USA is my #1 priority.

Grammar sucks, go with whatever you feel like typing.
...seriously, though.
EPL is the best Euro choice for an American to follow because, as mentioned earlier, it gets covered the most here and we all speak the same language. Haters gonna hate on the English game, but it really is one of the best to follow.
Bundesliga is good quality, but you'll have a hard time finding matches here...unless you have Gol TV.
La Liga is essentially a two-team league, Barca or Real. But they are two of the world's best clubs.
I know nothing about Ligue 1, you pansy.
If you're really serious about watching soccer, though, I suggest checking out our nation's own league, MLS. Since the rest of the leagues in the world are winding down their seasons in the coming weeks, MLS is the best choice because the season's just finished their sixth week on the schedule. If you're an American and love soccer, you should follow your own country's players...a good bit of them play in MLS.

Germans going to German.
Bayern is one of my favorite clubs. It is just easier for a new fan to follow the EPL in the states.
And all posters calling out this guy suck. Any new poster is welcome as long as he isn't a Mexican National team fan.

Lived in Bavaria for a few years as well

Sorry...but my blood boils whenever I see that someone finishes off their first post on here with "I like France". I'm also giving him the treatment I got when I revealed myself as a Man U fan on here.
That reminds me, OP...you like France? You must love Thierry Henry...be a New York Red Bulls fan. Great offense, but their defense is utter garbage. You'll never get bored.

Yeah but hasn't that abated?

As an Arsenal fan I fricking do. Plus my name is 100% French. WSM you have been a great addition to the Board. Who says he won't be?

I thought that "glass" was an English word

France is more fun to watch from afar. They self destruct pretty frequently. Just choose games at random to watch on ESPN3 on Saturdays and Sundays
Let me know if you choose a team. We have an assortment of team-branded, dental dams that we give to new Soccer Board posters.
