I’d argue that that he just rode the rising tide of premier league popularity, and that any semi-competent businessman could’ve done the same…and likely would’ve delivered more trophies along the way…imho.

I did wonder if the appointment of Vinia was on the job training since Levy pumped him up so much. Then the comment months later in the interview about how fans will appreciate him after he’s gone was the death knell for me.

Just finished watching this Netherlands v. Poland match. I’ve not seen much of xavi Simons before, but I wasn’t really impressed.
He was dispossessed often, a lot of sideways & backwards passing and I’m not sure he even attempted to take on a defender. Granted Poland parked the bus, and it was extremely crowded where he was set up. He was also played off the right, and that’s not his natural position. Obviously I’m not writing him off based on one match, but I was hoping to see more.
