Really grateful for the trophy but a 17th place finish in the PL is outrageous. That’s what did him in at the end
Now we gotta get the coach in and start making summer moves

Any rational person would know say 17th is unacceptable and embarrassing. It should be the primary goal to win the league, and getting other trophies along the way.
Grateful to Ange for the memories, but time to move on.

I’m having a hard time with the decision to sack him. I understand the league form and 34 losses in 2 years is nowhere near good enough, but I can’t help but feel he deserved the opportunity to start next year and prove that last year was a product of our decision to recruit 18 year olds and a crazy amount of injuries.
The irony in Frank being the rumored replacement is Brentford finished16th with 39 points one year earlier while dealing with a bunch of injuries and that’s without juggling a European competition.

Genuinely like the guy but
At the end of the day, it’s a business, which laments the idea of a club.

Yep. I think This is where I’m at. I’m certainly not Ange’s biggest supporter, but I do think people are being far too dismissive about the insane number of injuries we’ve had this year. That excuse gets brushed aside pretty quickly by most in the media.
Now, you could argue, and many have, that his style of play contributes to the injury count. Maybe that’s true, I’m not sure. But either way, I was prepared to give him at least until the next winter break to see what he could do with a fully fit squad from the start.
If it turned out to be more of the same: injuries piling up, naive in-game management, then fine, sack him. But I felt like the Europa win earned him a clean slate heading into the new season to make his case.
Especially when the likely replacement is someone like limp dick Thomas Frank. You can grab a Thomas Frank-level manager around Christmas if it comes to that.

I’m gonna disagree with this part. I personally think that Frank is a really good manager and I don’t think there are a ton of guys like him in football. I have no idea if he will be successful and I’m not even sure how ownership measures success, but I think he would be viewed differently if he spent time managing someone like Feyenoord, Sporting, Celtic, etc. You could make an argument that bringing a team up from the championship and establishing them as a consistent EPL team with Brentford’s wage bill is more impressive than winning something with a top club in a smaller league.
I’m bummed about it not working out with Ange because I loved the way he approached the game and above everything the way he defended the club and players from the constant banter that surrounds Spurs. That being said, if Frank is the guy, I’ll get behind him and hope that he can continue what Ange was trying to build.

I’m kind of disappointed, all these changes and for what? We finally get a trophy and well, nothing changes. I’ve always been a Levy out before a new manager but here we are, manager less and Levy is still here.

What he's done at Brentford is remarkable. They are historically a 3rd or 4th division club who hadn't been in the top flight since 1947 until they were promoted several years ago. Save for the last 8 years or so, Brentford have been essentially a neighborhood club in a small section of West London. And unlike other clubs who got to the Premier League and then flamed out (Blackpool and Huddersfield come to mind), Brentford have thrived.

I don’t disagree with that, he’s done a great job with brentford, and brentford caliber players. I just don’t think that sort of over achieving transfers to Tottenham. Unless levy starts paying wages for established pros, he won’t, I don’t see Tottenham ever finishing in the top 4 under Frank. Finishing comfortably somewhere around 5-8 is what I envision…and I think there are a lot of managers that would produce a similar result.
Ultimately, I don’t think this is really about the manager. So I’m not too concerned who is hired. It’s the jimmys and joes. No matter who’s in charge, I don’t see anyone taking the kind of players Tottenham brings in and mounting a serious challenge for the league title, or a deep champions league run.

The more I watch Frank tactics videos, the more I’m convinced we’ll win the treble.

We’ve gone thru so many at this point you could have Sir Alex Ferguson take over and we would have the same problems
Hopefully Frank keeps us in the top half of the table with some good Cup showings

Thomas Frank will become new Spurs head coach, here we go! Agreement done with the manager on contract terms and staff, Brentford set to release Frank for fee in the region of £10m. He’s the replacement for Ange Postecoglou.

I have a feeling Brentford will keep chugging along just like Brighton have after losing Potter and DeZerbi.
Brentford and Brighton are perfectly run clubs that have alignment from top to bottom.
If I have one concern about Frank it’s not the lack of experience in Europe, it’s that he has only ever operated in a structure where player development is equally if not more important than league position and results. Brentford and Brighton rarely if ever buy a finished product. Their entire model is predicated on smart recruitment and elite player development which requires patience, something this club does not have. We have the tendency to talk a lot about Spurs as a project, but we also expect trophies and top 4 every year. How Frank balances those expectations will be interesting to watch.
