First half was iffy. Probably should have conceded 2 goals to United.
2nd half was really impressive though.

Bissouma needs to stay healthy this year though.

They looked very good. There was a long stretch in the second half where they dominated and played beautiful soccer. Defense was improved as well though MU wasted two absolute sitters.

The passing and control of possession in the 2nd half was impressive. Total opposite of last year where we sat back and waited to counter attack.

That’s great to hear! The players seem to really like and respond to Ange. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Spurs fans get behind a man like they have with Ange. It’s really impressive.

I guess we did with Poch in the early years.

Sarr, bissouma & Maddison

Very positive from a lot of players out there. Glad to see vicario make some nice saves. Hopefully he gains some confidence from this game, because he’s looked a bit nervous at times.

The only real negative/concern I have is son, kulusevski & richarlison. None of them have been very impressive. 4 goals in two games, and none coming from our front three. I hope Solomon gets a run out next match, because I think he offers something different, and son & Kulu haven’t done anything that says they should get the start. In richarlison’s defense he hasn’t really had any service in two games, and he’s not a Harry Kane type that can drop deep and work himself into the game. Plus it’s not like we have another option at the moment. I’m on record saying Son in the middle isn’t going to work because he’s terrible back to goal, and gives possession away for fun.

Man U is a good team. Spurs played some beautiful soccer today. Let's see if Ange can keep them somewhat consistent.

That midfield trio is beautiful.

It’s early days, I think the front 3 will figure it out. Son and Deki have the Conte style burned into their brains, once they get more experience in the system I really do think they will start flying. Solomon has looked good though I wouldn’t mind him getting some starts.
Son looked better today but he also had more space and counter opportunities compared to the Brentford game.

Yeah I’m hoping the lack of production up front is a combination of new system, old habits from previous systems and playing against a low block (brentford) and solid defenders (United).

I’ve seen on Twitter that Maddison left the stadium in a waking boot and is having scans done on his foot today. Hopefully that isn’t too serious.

What happens when Betancur comes back from injury? Also have to think they are trying to deal Fred

Really good short interview that Ange did for the Men in Blazers dropped recently. I recommend a listen, I’m fully bought into the cult of Big Ange already.

(I do wish he would have kept Gianni Vio on staff though.)

It’s really hard to not to buy in. He seems as genuine and straight forward as you can be. The players look like they are absolutely enjoying playing for him.

I think he’s exactly what Spurs fans needed in a skipper.

Ange on penalty takers: “I think Sonny is up there. I think Madders and Richy are all sort of in there. Bissouma I’ve seen take about 500 and miss about 495. But he’s still out there practising, so I don’t know. It’s somewhere within that order.”

Glad Maddison is healthy, but a part of me was hoping to see Lo Celso today.

Impressed by Spurs’ ability to close out matches so far. I assumed it would just be 90’ of chaos regardless of the score line going into this season.
