Richy is a game changer

Just finished watching. Son is close to breaking out. Team looked much faster and confident today.

That is one of those games where the scoreline isn’t a good representation of the game. On another night we score 4 or 5. I think that was our best performance over 90 mins. Amazing what Romero does for the ball progression. He is so much more comfortable joining the attack and it’s was obvious today that Fulham couldn’t press Romero and Lenglet. I’ve been wanting to see Bissouma with Hojbjerg, but this game reminded me of how big an impact Bentancur makes even when it seems quiet. I thought Bentancur, Son, Hojbjerg, Romero, and Richy we’re excellent today.

Combined 0 shots on goal between both teams

Listening to this announcer you would swear that Marseille would have at least 3 goals.

1) I hate matches called by just one commentator
2) Richy and his energy should be more infectious to the midfield. Tactics may be to not press, but they're moving with such ease. We can't string passes together against their press.

Marseille taking the ball away like lunch money. Kane and Son not on same page. Rough first half.

Hoping to see Kulusevski in the 2nd half. I think he may be able to knit it together better.

Prob a dumb question but does Champions League have the same 5 subs rule this year as EPL?

Yeah, 5 subs.
This ref is doing a terrible job at letting this match have any flow whatsoever.

I could analyze the performance, but I would rather focus on the fact that Tottenham just won a UCL game and kept a clean sheet in the best stadium in Europe! It’s good to hear that anthem again…COYS!

COYS! a win is a win in the CL

I think Marseille is a solid squad. If they get through the group I can see them causing somebody a problem in the round of 16.

If they don’t advance we can at least count on them to take some points off of the other teams.
I don’t think I’ve ever done as much of a 180 on a player than I have with Richarlison. His talent was undeniable but I always thought he was a prick but after reading about his backstory more and everything he’s done on/off the field so far this season he’s becoming one of my favorite players.
I’m obviously happy we won yesterday but that first half was terrible. We usually turn it up a notch in the second half but we’re gonna pumped against city if that’s how we start off. May still get smoked the way Haaland is banging in goals unless we can keep up whatever voodoo we have over city

Can you elaborate?

Just growing up in poverty in Brazil and the steps he had to take to end up here. But overall it sounds like he’s very charitable and involved in trying to make his hometown and country a better place in addition to being an animal on the field. You see why Evertonian’s still love him and are happy for him

Why are we in the business of letting other teams feel good about themselves lately?

They were garbage today, especially Emerson. He was just awful.
