quote:2nd half it is. Literally the only reason to watch us play is to gamble on when we go 2-0 down.
So, do we go down 2-0 in the first half or wait until the second half to turn it on?

This Conte Counter Attack Style is killing me. It worked last year but seems like the rest of the PL figured it out.
Like the HT commentary said, we rely on attacking wingbacks. We don’t have it ATM. But you’re correct, teams have figured it out, and Villa just mimicked us this match, forcing us to hold possession in the attacking third, and we we’re clueless on what to do with it.

Talk about trending downwards.

Not a lot to be positive about since the WC but two wins in a row and through to the next round of the FA cup should help the confidence a little bit. Sarr is legit and Gil has done well with his opportunity but we’ll need Bentacur and Deki if we’re gonna beat scum next week

From the lack of posts, I don’t think anyone is looking forward to this match today. I know I’m not, but maybe a little hopeful they can find a way to make it competitive.

Looking at that squad there is no reason for them to not finish in the top 4.

Club statement:
Ok I added someone’s tweet at the end.

We are appalled by the behaviour of a supporter that attempted to attack Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale at the end of today’s match. Violence in any form has no place in football.
The Club has reviewed its CCTV footage to identify the supporter and will be working with the Met Police, Arsenal and Aaron Ramsdale to take the strongest possible action, including an immediate ban from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The game’s the game. We don’t employ a rapist, and we’re off to Milano next month.
Ok I added someone’s tweet at the end.

Ok, honest discussion. What has to happen for us to compete for a PL title?
Do we sell Kane and try to use that money to strengthen the rest of the squad?
What about Sonny, could we get enough to buy multiple players to help with our mid-field woes?
Do we hold what we have and demand ownership to open up the books?
We are so stale on the offensive end and have no creativity whatsoever and we always look shaky against top 4 playing out of the back. What do you believe has to be done in order for Spurs to compete for a League title short of being bought by a sheikh.

David “The Ornacle” Ornstein is weighing in on Tottenham’s recent interest in Leandro Trossard, and is reporting in the Athletic (£) today that Spurs have even made an informal bid for the want-away Belgian winger. However, according to Ornstein, the verbal bid was £12m and Brighton rejected it.
Reporting Brighton want 25 mil and others are interested.

The most important thing we can do is bring in a manager committed to a 3 year full rebuild that plays an exciting offensive style. It’s so obvious Ten Hag was the right hire but for some reason the fricks that run the club thought they could get Conte to squeeze out the rest of the juice of these guys while not being able to drop $100M on a CB or WB he demands. Instead we end up in this purgatory of trying to win now but buying players for the future.
In other words, we aren’t aligned.

Eddie Howe would've been the real choice.
(Spurs hired Conte on November 2nd and Newcastle hired Howe on November 8th of 2021.)
Not sure if he was particularly waiting for the Newcastle gig post-Ashley ownership though.

Watching United vs CP and anyone that wants to put blame on our lack of success anywhere other than ENIC is delusional.
This exact time last year United started the following:
Ronaldo, Rashford, Fernandes, Elanga, Greenwood, McTominay, Fred, Telles, Vaarane, Lindelolf, Dalot.
Fast forward 1 year and they upgraded...
Lindelolf --> Martinez(€60m)
McTominay --> Casemiro(€70m)
Fred --> Eriksen(Free transfer
Greenwood --> Antony(€95)
They spent a total of €195 to improve the 4 weakest areas of their team.
Spurs on the other hand
Still start Davies on a weekly basis and swap him out with Lenglet who is on a cheap loan.
Still start Dier week in and week out.
Still start Emerson or Doherty every week when we knew that was our biggest weakness. Also bought a young English RWB that isn't ready to play.
Still haven't signed a creative midfield player to replace Dele or Eriksen.
I would like to invite all the ManU fans that hate the Glazers to come spend a year with ENIC lol.
It doesn't matter who you put in charge of this team. As long as ENIC are running things we will continue to be disappointed. The worst thing that happened to ENIC was Poch punching above his weight for a few years because it raised expectations that they aren't willing to meet.
