One of two things is happening.
Either 1) Levy has multiple personality disorder
Or 2) Bale is going to Madrid

I'm going with 2.

I did read an interesting article this morning posted to Reddit arguing that this spending is not a definite sign that Bale leaves. It was thought provoking...but I still think we've seen Gareth in a Spurs shirt for the last time.

I'd love to read that if you've got it. Also, like I have said multiple times, AVB (and Levy) has done an incredible job making this summer about Spurs, not Bale.

The media wanted to talk about Bale, and AVB wanted this team to get better. Without Bale, this team is tremendous. With Bale, this team is favorites to win the Premier League.

93 million pounds is 108 million euros is 145 million dollars.

There's a possibility that Coentrao is included in that 93 million, but that leaves you enough to buy Lamela and Willian.

I think thats definitely a stretch, but I agree that Levy has done a great job this summer.

Man City is the favorite regardless of what Tottenham does, however, Tot'num has assembled one hell of a midfield and with the money from the inevitable Bale sell, they can get two more attacking players and a guy like Alderweireld

Agreed on all of the above. City and Chelsea are favorite for me. Granted, I still fully expect Chelsea to bring in another striker.

Yeah, I still can't agree that we would be favorites even with Bale....there just aren't enough spots on the pitch for everyone to be on at once. I do think it would make us contenders...hell even without Bale I think we may be fighting for top 3. It all depends on how quickly all of the new blood can gel.

ETA:
Also from Reddit, a Spurs fan there is convinced the reason we're going so hard after Willian is that, with the departures of Huddlestone and probably BAE, Spurs need to maintain our quota of ridiculous afros. Makes sense IMO.

Not sure I fully agree with his final point (#4), but it's a nice thought: LINK

Holy shite that was a good article hope he's rite about all the extra money math. It's seems like Lloris is the only position that is safe

I think it is entirely possible to top the table if Bale stays. I think the team has fixed its problems from last year that kept them out of the CL. So while it still seems a reach I dont think it is much of one.

Wow. Solid article. I'm pumped. Arsenal should just give us their CL spot because we are going to be so much better than them this year.

I still think our back line is a liability as is. Something needs to be done to fix that. We gave up too many late goals last season and were in serious danger against Palace on Sunday but were bailed out multiple times by Lloris.

After all of these transfers, we may only have one British starter:Kyle Walker.

I think our defense will get better. Vertonghen is great, and Kaboul needs to be starting for Dawson. I think Walker is only improving. And we have been linked to some great left backs. I also think late defending relies a lot on defensive mids. We've got some great ones.

Soldado, Willian, and Lamela should help.

I don't know. I'm still not 100% sold on Walker. He has great pace, yes. But he seems to get frustrated easily and dwell on decisions by the officials that don't go his way. I think this distracts him somewhat and he can get out of position. Luckily for him and us his speed can sometimes bail him out.

Willian is undergoing his medical. We paid £30 million according to just about everyone on Twitter.
