Sterling is IN
Koulibaly to take his medical in the US and join the team in Vegas for this weekend
quote:
England star Raheem Sterling has joined Chelsea from Manchester City on a five-year contract.
The Londoner has been one of City’s key performers over the past seven seasons, hitting double figures for goals in each of those campaigns and claiming nine major honours, including four Premier League titles.
A direct dribbler who thrives in any position across the front three or just behind a central striker, the 27-year-old utilises a perfect combination of skill, speed and timing to torment defenders, whether with the ball at his feet or with his consistently productive runs in behind.
The England international’s offensive attributes have posted impressive numbers in recent seasons, including 25 goal contributions last term as Man City retained the domestic title and reached the Champions League semi-finals. The majority of his goals are converted from close range, a testament to the forward’s clever movement and impeccable timing in the 18-yard box.
Since 2016/17, he is one of only eight players to have scored 80 or more Premier League goals, averaging 22 in all competitions across the past five seasons, as well as an average of 10 assists per term over the same period.

$40m for a 31 year old? Eh, but I guess if we aren't getting the two studs we had to do something.

$40M for a solid starter, even at that age, isn't crazy with transfer fees lately.
Need to get Ake sealed...don't know why that seems to have stalled. We would at least have some quality & depth at that point.

Silva is 37 and arguably one of the best centre-backs in the world. 31 doesn’t scare me plus like the market is driving prices up.

Yeah not bad. Gallagher is going to be a beast. Emerson and Amapadu looked good. Will be interesting to see if either of them make the squad.

Yeah they had it on our emblem for a while. Couldn’t figure it out for a while until they swapped it back

Not signing Haaland or Lewandowski will be the reason this team will be fighting to stay in top 4 this season. Still can’t score. Sterling is nice but not prolific. Spending all Todd’s money on the back line, which was necessary, but thinking Sterling is the answer to our scoring woes is foolhardy.

I’m not gonna freak out yet, I think a front 3 of sterling havertz and pulisic/Werner will be pretty potent with the right chemistry. I see us as 3-5 place team right now.
