That seems really low.
He's in the last year of his contract.

Any clue if Arsenal would target someone as a replacement?
I pretty much just check r/soccer and this thread a few times a day for any non-Liverpool news, which does a well enough job to keep me in the loop but I admittedly am not in the know much more than that

We are trying to get Lemar but Monaco are reluctant to sell.

Assuming that Mendy news is true, that would be quite the squad turnover for Monaco

Like someone else already said, last year of his deal and they were never going to pay his wages. The rumored sale prices of £70+ mil for him were pretty much only reported in deals where he wound up at City.
Appears the club were much more willing to let him go for a reasonable sum outside of England.

Bakayoko and Mendy were pretty much guaranteed to leave after the group stages of the UCL.
Bernardo Silva was somewhat a surprise, but they've added Kongolo and Tielemans. As long as they hold onto Lemar and Fabinho, which seems more and more likely, they should be fine.

So looks like Mendy to City for £51 million

It may just be my opinion, but I can't help think the Monaco players are way over hyped/priced in this summer's market...
Collectively they had a great season and individually they are indeed good players (could be great), but damn...

I read this thread last night and thought exactly the same thing.
It half the squad really are the best players for sale, as the hype and prices would have you believe, then there's good chance that them all playing together made some appear better than they'll be in their new club.

Of course they are but sell while their stock is at its highest
They have also bought some good players in for replacements
City's summer spending at £170 million and it isn't even August. I doubt Pep is done.

And if they deal Mbappe for the rumored record fee to Real Madrid, they could reload in a big way. They've done a great job finding and developing young players since the divorce.

Not only that they dropped a lot of coin on two back up fullbacks

This isn't incorrect, because I do somewhat agree, but a lot of the players, especially Silva, M'Bappe and Mendy have been scouted for several years now and have been thought of very highly to turn into solid players.
Now, I didn't know much about Bakayoko coming into this season, but M'Bappe, Silva and Mendy have received caps for their countries and have been players of record on video games even that turn into solid players. They didn't just come out of nowhere.
Do I think Mendy can become a 50 mil fullback, probably not, but if I had to guess, he's probably way better than fricking Clichy was.
