Simply amazing that Arsenal would sell to any of the top4.

Times have changed, $ trumps all.

Kroenke didn't buy Arsenal to win trophies!

Are you honestly okay with yall clubs spending absurd amounts of money on multiple players? (Honest question)

Not sure why, but some of those fees would just irk me the wrong way.
Hell, I don't know how I feel when Spurs spend +$20mil on a player.

Just seems artificial to me I suppose.

It ain’t our money.

Manchester United is one of the biggest brands in the world. It prints money. It would be dumb not to spend it. This is the way the game works.

Enjoy never winning anything, then.

I seriously don’t understand all this handwringing from fans of cheap clubs. Y’all aren’t the ones paying the tab at the end of the day. If the money’s legit and the club isn’t going under, make it rain.

I don’t know what kind of trophy case holds moral victories.

I understand that part of it and I completely agree that it should be spent if you have it

But just spending $80mil on players every single window with a coach (Jose M.) who will be gone within 3 years just seems like it would get old quick and a great way to always be chasing the next high.

Just not my cup of tea I guess. Like I said, seems artificial.

Levy has commented on this recently in regards to other clubs not being run in a financially stable way.

Curious to see if there's any truth to it in the future.

the problem I have with teams spending absurd amounts is the market gets inflated, and what once could've gotten you 3-4 great players now gets you one, if that.

And yes, I realize that it will make winning anything extremely difficult. But it does make it sweeter.

Lost me on that one.

It's not like I can change who my favorite team is at this point anyway.

Yeah, it’s totally not a smart strategy to spend exorbitantly and rotate managers frequently.

You said winning without spending so much “makes it sweeter.”

Please point us to the time when Spurs won a trophy and you got to experience that sweet taste.

Until they do that, it’s just a hypothetical. Like the college football teams who think they can compete for a national title without raking in Top 10 classes.

Did you enjoy it more when Troy beat LSU? Or when they beat Texas State?

Either way, it's just a figure of speech. No need to be an arse about it.

I know what you're saying and there is a bit of romanticism to buy younger, cheaper players on the up and develop a team... that said, you have to be able to spend or get left behind..

I'm just glad FSG and Klopp have come around to that fact... Maybe not world record fees at all 11 positions, but a combination of both...

I had no problem breaking that record for a defender on VVD, because we needed an established top tier defender... a young player would not do.. we need a couple of more in the next couple of windows to help get that strong foothold on top 4 and start competing for titles..
