Spurs are desperately missing a proper holdup man.

You're right. It's crazy to think that we sold Trippier without bringing in any cover at RB and let Llorente leave without signing a number 9. Inexcusable especially with Kane's injury history.

All of this. Really really bad management.

Don't believe so. Think he was just there for a match.

He is a huge AC Milan fan though.

A lot of action going on this morning:

-Signed Steven Birgwijn from PSV.
-Sold Eriksen to Inter.
-Permanenty signed Lo Celso until 2025.

Time will tell, but I really like this signing. Pace, dribbling, and flexibility across the front 3 is exactly what we needed. I hope this allows them to play Moura out wide again because he is much better as a winger.

Man what a player. His last 12 months were pretty meh, but watching some of his highlights reminded me how good he was while at Spurs. Wish him nothing but the best.

Amazing how quickly he has adjusted. He is not at peak Eriksen level yet, but he makes the transition so much easier.

Will definitely miss Eriksen. My favorite memory was his goal against Chelsea in 2018 at Stamford Bridge.

So with Kane out long term and Parrott never going to play, we used the transfer window to buy another winger? We have zero options up top through next season.

Top 4 isn't out of the picture just yet. Only 4 points off Chelsea. Chelsea face Man UTD next. Feels great to get 3 points and a clean sheet.

no it's not... but y'all gotta be more consistent.... y'all have games like today where y'all look like some world beaters.... then y'all come out, some games, completely shitting the bed, and for no reason....

but anyway, thanks for taking care of City today... we really appreciate it... YNWA

This squad has completely forgotten how to play, the inability to control anything in the midfield is shocking...Especially against teams like Southampton. Defensive issues are well known. The guys up front routinely pick the wrong pass, or hold onto the ball too long and kill any chance they had. It’s really hard to watch. But hey, another win, and we’re moving on.

ETA: oh and I think Sons penalty was a dive by him. Not only that but I think he could’ve stayed on his feet and finished it.

I've noticed this as well.
I think it has to do with the lack of a proper holdup man.

But either way, it's quite frustrating.

Yeah And i’m not sure how much of it has to do with the players on the field, and a lack of confidence, or simply the tactics Mourinho is stressing in practice and games.

It’s clear they’re told to just boot it if they have any question, sort of a better safe than sorry mentality, and I wonder how much that affects a players mentality on holding possession when it’s needed and safe. I can understand those tactics against sides like city or Liverpool, but when you are constantly giving possession back to sides like Southampton they continue to grow into the game with confidence.

Son definitely took a dive. I’d be livid if I were a S’Hampton fan.

Having said that, it looks like Jose is getting results out of that squad. Southampton are playing dangerous ball, and your boys kept plugging away. Thought the zings goal may have been a dagger, but Tots are pretty resilient. Nice win boys.

The Ings goal was a great counter. They played really well and probably deserved to win but it’s really satisfying stealing the win. We’ve been outshot like 33-5 the last two games and have won both lol, it’s gonna catch up to us if we don’t figure it out.

Son and Lucas look tired AF this break is really needed. I love watching Ndombele when he’s on the ball but holy shite he looks so lazy when he doesn’t have possession. His whole fitness thing is really weird

Not sure who downvoted me, but I didn't say I was upset about Son's dive.

Quite the opposite. It is part of the game. Exploit it. I'll bitch about it when it happens against Liverpool, as all fans should with their team, but it is really just gamesmanship.

Son is actually my favorite non-Red.

Ings' goal was dynamite. Perfect placement. I think you guys have an interesting dynamic with having attacking players of the quality you do paired with his counter-ball mentality. You guys could probably see long-term success out of this marriage, if you will. I'm excited to see where you guys go in the next few years.

If I am completely honest, I look at Spurs as kind of my second team. I cheer for them a ton when I see them on TV. I poke fun with the whole "Lads, it's Tottenham" thing every once in a while, but it is tongue-in-cheek.
