Pochs time had run its course

His behavior has certainly been pretty bizarre for the past 12 months, and some of the stories coming out of training have been pretty weird. Especially compared to the rest of his tenure.

Not sure if this should fall totally on Poch, or if the board should take some responsibility as well for not giving him what he wants.

Truth is, Spurs have been pretty terrible since January, and the CL run have very much papered over the cracks.

Now is Jose the right guy to take over? I have no clue

Yep all of this. It’s just so shocking with how it was done, and the suddenness of it. Like you’ve said, this squad has been bad for going on almost a year, notwithstanding some magical (if not lucky) champions league results, and there was a case to be made for moving on from Pochettino. BUT it’s the manner in which this was done that seems so so foolish, and destined to bite Tottenham in the arse in the future.

There were at least 4-5 players I would’ve like to have seen sold on, and this January window to see if Pochettino could’ve turned it around. It felt like at the very least he deserved that. Especially since he’d been taking about the problem players for awhile.

So, what does everyone expect this Saturday? Try to run with what they've been doing and make the change slowly, or do they make drastic changes and dive into a new system.

With Jose, it might be park the bus and counter. I know he favors a defensive game, at least that's what I remember.

I'm not expecting much until January.
Figured that's a reasonable buffer time for a new manager to get his ideas in.

No clue how it'll look this weekend. Fully expecting Dier to be in the XI though.

So true.

I think we can also say goodbye to younger players getting in to the squad. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think he goes with youth much.

Interesting stat of the day, according to Sky Sports During Mourinhos time at United he had an average of 1.89 goals/game....the same as Pochettino at Tottenham. Found that to be surprising.

Same. Honestly can’t wrap my head around the above.

This has to be a record timeline from firing a coach, hiring a new outside coach and them being on the training pitch right?

Mourinho first Spurs interview

This got me pretty excited. I’m choosing to drink the kool-aid and be optimistic for the rest of the season

Just watched it and liked what I heard. I'm with you, I'm going to drink the kool-aid because what else can we do at this point?

I'm just hoping the change brings more energy to the players.

Yep. Time to jump on the pain train.

Also, this little interview from a Spurs fan is worth a watch.

Apparently Mou is going after Bale.

I like it tbh as long as Spurs don’t pay a shite ton

I don’t know how I feel about that. I’d like him on reasonable wages, but it’s been my understanding he’s not willing to back down from what he’s currently making, and I can’t blame him. I am however in full support of Bale trolling the frick out of Madrid fans with the flag.

Also this,

Will always love Poch for the great times but I think we all agree it was time for a change.

The key to whether Mourinho will be successful or not all depends upon Levy not being a pain in the arse penny-pincher. Being cheap has not and will not get you extended results in the Premier League. I’m expecting some big time fireworks in the January transfer window
