Meh, if he didn't pass a physical then I'm good with not signing him... also we're going to have two golden boot winners this year now

Salah wins the Golden boot for a second year in a row (Mane also wins), but yeah down year for him

Also, Alisson wins Golden Glove... again worth every penny

Great core to build on

Absolutely, get a little better in the attacking midfield (which we may have those pieces with Ox and Keita), and we're a force for sure

LINK

It's a good feeling knowing that (unlike some other clubs), we're a well run organization from the top down.

Anyone else think John Henry looks like Bill Nighy?

I think they’re plenty. If lallana can stay healthy he’s a great option as well. I was watching highlights of him the other day and I’d forgotten what an absolute menace he was. I’ve said before, all we need is a reliable backup for robbo.

We need a different type of MF, my guess is Brandt considering the amount of smoke. Ox can be a freight train, I think Klopp is looking for a playmaker and Brandt fits the mold and won’t break the bank. And then I think it’s a dangerous wing (Timo would be insane) and back ups at LB and GK. Origi and Brewster will be lurking behind Bobby. Fricking Origi pulled a Lazarus didn’t he? I mean he was as gone as gone could be.

Yeah he's gone from dead and buried to our legitimate 2nd option up top, and it's not even close between him and Sturridge

This year’s league was fricking incredible in regards to the numbers of City and Liverpool.

Mane, Van Dijk and Alisson all deservedly getting postseason honors and your side lost one fricking match.

We had to win 14 in a row to win the thing and didn’t drop any points after January 29th. I can’t remember when Liverpool dropped points last either, but I do remember everyone saying that both teams would almost certainly drop some in the final stretch and it never happened.

Both teams have only lost SIX fricking matches in the league over the last two seasons as well. Incredible.

I’m honestly glad with what Klopp has built and hope he continues to put the pressure on City. If we had walked the league again I think we almost certainly start to stagnate. But with another top side pushing for the title I think it really does bring out the best in the players, for example, I think the realization that Pool may actually not win the title finally hit before the second leg against Barca and honestly believe that made your players put in the performance they did.

Oh yeah, both teams were absolutely insane this year... The last time liverpool dropped points I believe was March 3rd (Everton), they won 9 in a row in the league after that.

I'm looking forward to another great fight between the two next year, both are certainly class sides and far and above better than the rest of the league

I'd go:

Salah vs. Chelsea
Barca at Anfield
Origi vs. Everton
Gomez
Matip

Player of the season: VVD obviously at the top of the list but I also think Salah, Mane, Robbo, TAA, and Alisson deserve shouts

Goal of the season: Salah’s was an absolutely belter but Sturridge at Stamford
Bridge is up there too

Game of the season: gotta be the return leg against Barcelona

Moment of the season: For me, after the Barcelona game with everyone at the Kop singing YNWA. That for me signifies what this club is

Most improved player: I never thought Robbo or TAA would become as important to our team as they have this season, but it’s gotta be Matip. When he first got here, I think he got more praise than deserved just because he was being compared to players like Lovren and Skrtel but he still had some holes in his game. That said, I would argue he was just as good if not better than Virgil these last few months and he showed it in both legs against Barcelona. Those were world class performances

Surprise package: I’m gonna go with our midfield I guess just because of the up and down nature of the season. We all had high hopes for Naby, but he eventually came around and I can’t wait for next season. Fabinho took a bit to get embedded in the lineup but then he made himself one of the first names on the team sheet. Gini was absolute world class for a stretch of the season before Fabs got settled in. Hendo looked a completely different player and like a new signing (cue joke) when he got pushed back to a shuttler/mezzala toward the end of the season. And Milner continues to look ageless putting in clutch performance whenever he’s called upon

I admit I still doubted the midfield but they’ve gotten to the point where they might not be a group of big names, but they’re pretty much exactly the midfield we need and will absolutely put a shift in no matter the situation

I feel like the strike by Salah against Chelsea may need to be in the discussion here...

He had a pedestrian goal to break his scoreless streak, but that smash really announced his return to form.

Also fair, just loved the Everton goal because we essentially ripped those blue hearts out and stomped on them at the death
