Ok boys - you're Klopp - how do we approach what is likely the biggest tactical decision of the game -

Is Salah told to cheat forward and take on the space vacated by the maurading Marcelo? Or is he told to help out with Trent?

The concern being - if Salah cheats forward, Trent needs help from a midfielder on the right and Kroos/Modric have a lot more space in the center. Very risky but possibly very rewarding?

Or, do you do something else to offset this? (have Bobby drop deeper on defense at times to close down the central space)?

Either way, I'm telling Mane to be ready to bust his arse both ways for 120. He'll be needed on defense for sure.

That first 20 minutes will go a long way in deciding how this will play out and whether Trent's up for it. Trent has had some good games against good players. But also some poor ones.

I almost want to start the game like we usually do, with Mane on the left, Firmino in the middle and Salah on the right. A few minutes in, after the initial probing, swap Salah and Firmino for an extended period. This would let Firmino track back and help with Marcelo and put world class speed in the center and on the left. I know they rotate during the game usually, so this may not be ground breaking, but Firmino's work rate against Marcelo could pay dividends. Let Robbo, Hendo, Gini and Milly press up the left and through the center, and absorb Marcelo down the right with Firmino and TAA.
