And overrated by some as well
He's very good when he's on, but he disappears too easily and I'd argue he passes sideways/backwards more than Henderson but because it's him it's labeled "recycling possession"

quote:
I love Mane and his unpredictableness makes him so tricky and such a good winger, but that said, his decision making can be so frustrating at times too
It can be frustrating, but he has the best movement of our front three... I love the dude!

Exactly. That's why I love him because he's a big reason for us creating so many chances too. But if he had better end product he could be what Salah has been for us this year

that said, I think that second one wasn't all on him... Mo needs to get a bit wider there, too...

I agree. I put that one more on Mo than on Mane.

He only “disappears” to the people who continue to expect Newcastle Wijnaldum and thats not the role that Klopp assigns him.
In many of those “disappearances” I have seen time and again, when this squad gets caught out in attack, Gini is the one MFer sprinting full speed to get back into position to defend. He’s excellent on the ball and holds the ball well. He’s awesome at picking off the ball off from opposing players.
Indeed, the one part of his current role that is very average is his passing. But he’s not expected to be the hard-charging attacking mid on this team. Thats not his role.
The role that Klopp has transformed him into he is very very good at.

Trust me, I got what his role is supposed to be. That said, it's still no excuse for how many times he holds onto the ball too long, doesn't see passes, etc.
Don't get me wrong, I really like him. I loved him back when he was with PSG. And like I said, when he's on he's everything that you said and more. But for the most part, he's just a squad player. A squad player I'm glad to have because I know he does a lot of the little things. His positional awareness in the side and cover for our fullbacks is top notch. But again, I feel like he gets a pass on too many other things where he should do better
Nonetheless I don't wanna shite on any one player. I'm glad he's in the side and he's played an important role to our run this year

So happy for Solanke... kid works hard, just needs more time... if does ever put it all together, he could be world class... physically he's got it, but mentally and tactically he's still got some work to do, but glad he got that monkey off his back today...

Always great to see us take care of business without any drama
Would’ve been nice to make a run and compete for one of the domestic cups, but all in all...no matter what happens in 2 weekends...it has been a successful season with much improvement. Can’t wait to see what the future holds
