Personally, not that pissed other than I just hate losing to fricking United...

They were the better side today at their home and we all know we have some work to do in the offseason to address some of our weaknesses... I won't belabor what those are

Let me guess... one position starts with a "C" and ends with a "B"?

(And I 100% agree. Plus, my god, we definitely need reinforcement in MF in addition to Keita. And Allison would be a beautiful thing (even though I am admiring Karius' work right now).)

To me thats the glaring weakness.. and I agree we need some MF help, someone that can break down a defense, whether its an attacking MF or a DLP, something is needed...

Like p pointed out earlier... we need someone other than Solanke and Ings to bring on up top... ones too young and ones not good enough...

Yeah, I still think Thomas Lemar is destined to be a Liverpool player and provide depth at the wing.

And I'm not down on Solanke to be the future behind Bobby, I just don't think he's had any chance to develop this year sitting on the bench. I think he has many (but not all) of Bobby's good attributes and can be a very good player. I don't know if we just need to be more patient and hope he can get playing time next season in the FA and League Cup competitions or do we need to load him out to a team that plays Klopp's system, because the kid NEEDS minutes.

My dream summer is Allison, De Vrij, Jorghino, Lemar. We shall see.

TAA positional sense needs a lot of work. Not worried about the result, we just didn’t play well. It’s hard to play football when the other team is so compact.

If money was no object..

Gimenez/Koulibaly (De Vrij for free would be awesome too)
SMS
Fabinho/Ndidi/prob a few more
Werner
Bailey
I would see how Karius plays the rest of the season before saying Alisson or just a solid #2

I should add, I'd take Lemar too... could fill the Coutinho role as at the most advanced on the MF 3 or as a backup winger...

You beat me to it, that’s the 4 that would put me over the top. I think Clyne coming back healthy could be a huge addition for us. He would provide that experience we need at that position, give TAA some needed time to develop properly along with letting Gomez get to his natural position.

You boys are quick, I was agreeing with BB’s dream 4. I also think those are the 4 that Klopp has been looking at the most and are the most doable.

We need a legit striker more than anything.

Firminio is great, but having him as our sole option to lead the line is kind of ridiculous.

He should be playing off someone, not leading the line by himself.

We had legit "strikers" in Sturridge and Benteke and they both flop around like fishes out of water in Klopp's system.

I never understand this kind of comment.

Or are you saying we need to move on from Klopp and go back to a "traditional" striker and system?

Dude no.

We're in two major competitions and we have one proven striker option.

One.

How is that over reacting?

You say he should be playing off someone. Considering our goal scoring record on the year, I'd say he's doing fine as our first option. Now I don't think anyone will disagree that we could use someone else to bring on more threatening than Ings or Solanke, but suggesting he shouldn't be our starting number 9 to me is overreacting

He's done fine. Don't get me wrong, not what I meant.

But today he was super isolated and as a result, pretty ineffective.

We simply don't have the personnel to run any other type of system, that is a bit concerning facing the better teams in England and in Europe.

Today should be a blue print for how to play us in the Quarters.

OK, if by "striker" you mean "a backup to Firmino that can play his position better than the backups we've got now", then I'm with you.

All I'm saying is that when I hear the word "striker", I think of guys like Sturridge and Benteke and Harry Kane... and those frickers can't play Firmino's position. They don't have the strength, energy, or skill to play a 90 minute match doing all the things that Firmino does and is required to do.

Bobby to me isn't a "striker". He's a forward that wears a striker's number. He's a forward that at any particular point in the game is primarily central, but can be found anywhere on the front-line. That brilliant smile shines equally for a goal of his own or for an assist. He does a list of things strikers can't and/or don't want to do.

And, again, a traditional "striker" doesn't fit into Klopp's philosophy or how he likes to play football. We've been down that road and saw it on the pitch and it was ugly and ineffective.

I mean... that’s been the blueprint all season.. today is nothing new..

Park the bus and make us try and break you down.. against lesser opponents our front 3 can usually find a way and draw a team out with a goal..

If a good defensive team parks it.. it will be tough..

I do agree we need another striker that can offer a different look than Firmino.. I want Werner...

I just mean someone who can effectively spell him or any of the other front three.

Realize we’ve been scoring etc but if fimrinio takes a knock, does anyone realize how fricked we are?
