I'm just getting old.
I was still seeing him as a sprightly 25 year old. That makes sense.

Liverpool held talks with Goretzka's reps but they believe he's on the brink of signing for Bayern Munich #LFC

Sucks, but I wasn't thinking our chances were that high anyway if Bayern were in for him. Likely using us and others to get his Bayern contract higher.
Someone on the TAW podcast made a great point this week - he thinks, and I agree, that the sudden move to Karius is more about the fact that we just bought VVD.
To me, that makes total sense - VVD comes in, you want your true sweeper keeper in there because the line may move even higher at times, etc. Plus Karius is much better with distribution that Migs (hell, the first goal was caused by his kicking it up field much further than Migs does (and not out of bounds)) Either way, I'm happy Karius is getting his chance - hopefully he grows into the job with some confidence and we'll see what he can do.

I want Oblak this summer and I'm absolutely willing to spend 100M euros of FSG's money to get him!

Goretzka would have been fantastic but it’s always seemed like Bayern. I also think Pulisic has Spain in his eyes after BVB. We need to go and spend on a GK as if it’s VVD., and I think we will full court press Lemar. I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t sign Lemar now for the summer to put it to bed. I just think Klopp has him targeted and he wants to come here. I don’t think we sign anyone of significance that takes the pitch for us before the summer.

Grujic to Cardiff
Woodburn to Sunderland - that will be an interesting test of his character for a guy that young to be put in a championship relegation fight
Inter Milan interested in Sturridge. I highly doubt an Italian team is going to be willing to give us the money we want and meet his wages

I think the hold-up on Lemar is that FSG (or Klopp) has a specific price in mind that they don't think he's worth more than. Arsenal came in and met Monacos valuation last summer, and thus, they are hesitant to come down to our price.

Just goes to show you just how fricked up last summer's transfer market was. Man City sign Bernardo Silva for like 45m. Then you have Neymar's deal. That obviously triggers the high asking prices plus igniting the late unsettling of Coutinho. We scramble for a replacement who now hikes up the price based on the Neymar transfer and our predicament. Arsenal comes in and says they'll pay it further weakening our position. We were fricked from the onset

If CFC get Carroll and want to sell Michy, I'd be all over trying to get him here...

If Klopp has his eyes set on Pulisic or Lemar than I think we should probably pay for that and a GK. Unless we can pull a Mane or Salah out our arse again we are going to pay, especially with that Cou money that everybody we do business with knows that we have burning a hole in our pocket.

shite, we already spent 75 Million of it.
Is CP really even likely? Where does he fit in with us anyway?

I dont think the VVD money was funded by the Coutinho sale...

Yeah, I agree, I think that was from the summer budget though they may have only been budgeting around 50-60 then.
But I'm always more than willing to be effluent with FSG's dollars/pounds/euros, so lets go shopping!

Oblak would be a dream come true. He’s a top 5 keeper on the planet. If we have a guy like that between the sticks then we’re making a serious run at the title year in and year out. Just look at United with De Gea. I bet he salvaged 15 points for them last year with world class saves that he had no business making.

I never get the feeling that Klopp’s man crush on CP is mutual, he would be absolutely perfect for us though. Looks like the James interest is real but he’s in the first year of a two year loan to Bayern.

Also, Woodburn to Sunderland fell through

If you're confident that the move will put you over the top in competing for trophies and championships, is it really?

Oh trust me I get it. But I also still believe that we have other issues leading to goals and it’s not 100% on the keeper.
