There is a reason why the women dominate , it’s bc women’s soccer doesn’t compete for athletes with any other sport.
So women don't play other sports in this country? I'm sure we've had a pro women's basketball league longer than one for soccer. Also, I believe women's tennis has been around for a good while.

But hey let's send home the teen that's already played at a higher level than Zardes ever has.

I feel confident that everyone outside of soccer involved in athletics will make the same suggestion to you guys.Foster Moreau at 6’5” 250 ran a 4.6 /4.7 at the combine. I assure you if he was put on the soccer track at five years old and dedicated himself to it like he did to football he could easily be on the back line of the US men’s national team. You can’t tell me Jacob pastor is not a better athlete than Alexis Lalas, one of the better backline defenders we have ever had. You can’t tell me that any NFL running back from the last 30 years would not be a better striker than Landon Donovan if he had the sa I assure you if he was put on a soccer track at five years old and dedicated himself to it like he did to football he could easily be on the back line of the US men’s national team. You can’t tell me Jacob pastor is not a better athlete than Alexis Lalas, one of the better backline defenders we have ever had. You can’t tell me that any NFL running back from the last 30 years would not be a better striker than Landon Donovan if he had chosen to apply himself to soccer. Can you imagine if Michael Jordan or LeBron had taken the soccer path at five years old? Between their size, leaving ability and reflexes they would have been the best goalies of their era. I know this upsets most of you because many people play soccer because they can’t play football for me size and or athletic standpoint. I get it. But the reality is that our best athletes are not choosing a soccer path. And for the guy who stated at soccer requires more quick decision making you my friend have no freaking clue if never played football or basketball. Clearly your understanding of both games is limited to a myopic view of a chalkboard with a play drawn out on it.

Donovan wasn't a striker.

You're clearly out of your depth.

I don’t think the best male or female athletes in US play soccer.

I'm guessing he's talking about an academy.

If Lebron played soccer all his life he wouldn’t be the Lebron he is today
He’d be built like Peter Crouch and terrible at the sport because our coaching is dog shite
Too many people are thinking
“Hey this guy is a great athlete, let’s just give him soccer skill!”
Our best bet would to be the Monstars and take all the talent from the French team and put it in those guys

I agree with the OP 100%!!! If our best athletes were playing soccer from the time they were 5, we would be dominating the world. The simple and painful truth is that they aren't. Until professional soccer in America pays as much as the NBA, NFL, MLB or NHL....we will continue to get the best of the rest. Imagine a team, fully developed from the time they were 5 of:
Lebron James
Kawhi Leonard
SaQuon Barkley
Odell Beckham
Michael Thomas
Anthony Davis (Goalie)
Julio Jones
AJ Green
Kylar Murray
Antonio Brown
Leonard Fournette
Deandre Hopkins
and on and on and on.....
You CANT tell me that if those guys were playing soccer all their lives, that we wouldn't be winning. When the day comes that we have a team full of that kind of god given size, speed and athleticism, coupled with development from the time of 5 years old....that's when we will win a World Cup. That day is a LONG way away!!

Stop kidding yourself..i mean has the world ever seen a player like Lebron James size and speed? Has the world ever seen a Goalie with the size and athleticism as Anthony Davis....ill wait!
Could you fricking imagine Anthony Davis playing Goalie?!?!?!?

Easily. It doesn't matter if they started playing soccer at 5 if they get shite coaching.

How quickly can Anthony Davis get to the ground?

Lebron James size
Pretty simple really, if Lebron James started playing soccer at the age of 5 he would not be 6-8 250 lbs

speed
There are a lot of players that are faster than Lebron

So playing soccer changes your height?
