Sounds odd but I think we had a better chance at 3 points without the red card. They just packed it in and played for the draw after halftime. This team still desperately needs a coutinho like player. Thought Mane was pretty predictable and poor today. Salah made some good runs but Rudiger took it off him with relative ease nearly every team he got in a threatening spot.

Harvey has the skillset to unlock teams like Chelsea, but it won’t come until he gets more comfort and confidence. It seems like if we aren’t scoring on the counter it looks really difficult for us to score lately. The mockery of a transfer window will again have us clawing for a top 4 finish I’m afraid, which will make it a lot harder for us to recruit going forward. Being honest with myself about it we look like the 4th best team in the league early on. We really need 1 more lethal finisher to complement Mo.

Yeah, but they were playing for a draw and they are solid defensively... hope Bobby's not out long... get a forward in please!

Ref did us no favors sending off James really... we're more likely to score when they were playing to win..

All fair points. Frustrated that they're falling and flailing was rewarded.

I cannot believe we really aren’t going to get another forward at least this window. Doku seems perfect, is FSG really that cheap or is Klopp telling them he’s got what he needs? I know that might sound crazy but they way he’s talking lately I wonder.

I want a creative midfielder. Our forwards are fine. When teams park the bus, we drop points.
We have to break those squads down if we want to win the league, even if it is coming from a team that doesn’t normally pack it in like Chelsea.

Bottom line, we should score a goal with a man advantage across 45 mins.

Thiago should hopefully fill that void... Id have like to see him on earlier yesterday..

We have lacked a goal scoring mid for some time... prob since Coutinho...

edit: Iy won't this summer, because he's really just got to RBL.. but go get this guy next year.. Dominik Szoboszlai

Ornstein/Joyce reporting Edwards is set to step down after this season... His contracts i up, though FSG is trying to keep him... Julian Ward expected to step up, if they cant convince up... Supposedly, no other clubs are involved...

Would be a loss...

True to form, LFC announce Hendo's 4 yr deal (essentially, a 2 yr extension) on deadline day... The FSG Out bunch are out in full this morning!

Also, Joyce/Doyle saying Firmino's injury doesn't appear serious, though awaiting scan... still should sideline him a couple of weeks..

Absolute debacle of a window.

I mean, didn't we all know this was the most likely outcome of this transfer window? Profits/revenue was down, we bought a fantastic defender early in the window, and we tied down most of our top talent.

However, just like last year, we are found without the depth we need. Come January when SAlah and Mane are out for AFCOM, I don't want a shred of excuse from Klopp if Firmino is hurt, etc. They got their only pass last year when the lack of CB depth was apparent to everyone ahead of the season.

yeah, I wasn't expecting a crazy window.. but more than Konate... I wasn't even expecting proven stars, but maybe some players on the verge of a breakout... 1 or 2 more.

I still think we have a very strong core... we'll see how it goes...

Not even the 4th best team? Because we drew to Chelsea, who has added a ton of talent?

Chill out man. City lost to and got blanked by Spurs, who are going to be average at best. Man U is going to be lame and boring and drop points every other week as long as OGS is there.

If healthy, its Us and Chelsea battling for 2nd most likely with a chance to win it all. This team reminds me of those Vet Chelsea teams that banged out a few titles.

We’ve all heard about the elusive “one creative mid to break teams down” myth for a decade. Didn’t win the title when we had one…

It’s still way too early to know anything and we clearly have a rock solid defense.

We were a train wreck lest year and still managed 3rd…

I really thought we needed to add at least one attacking player for depth. Mane was awful last year and tbh he was brutal last weekend against Chelsea. I’m very uneasy about what’s going to happen during AFCON

It’s a huge blessing Jota has turned out to be a great transfer

Mane is always hot and cold with form. We were talking about him being the best player in the world for a period a couple years ago.

We will be fine. Y’all are forgetting just how good VvD can be for our team.

This is how it starts. This is why we needed another attacking option.

Koop doesn’t trust Minamino or Origi

THAT is why we needed another attacking option

I promised myself I wouldn’t say Doku again. frick it, I still fail to understand how this kid is not in the squad at this point. Klopp obviously loves him, we tried to bring him in at 16. He has the perfect game for our system as an attacking player. He is the right age. And the price is right with what we pay. I’ve always thought Taki could be an option but Klopp evidently doesn’t trust him at all.
