I imagine the main thought is simply that Nasri would give them the "2 deep" Mancini keeps talking about where they seem to need it most: some creativity when Silva doesn't play.
I wonder how much you would see Silva and Nasri together? Maybe with Silva roaming more centrally and Kun / Dzenko up top.

Silva is pure class, I want that dude taken care of.

Yeah... I just don't see Nasri as much more than insuring Silva gets to rest without the attack coming to a screeching halt.
Silva is so much fun to watch! I really started following City more closely mainly because of the Silva transfer.
I think playing with Aguero is going to take his game to another level. Dzenko is improving but just isn't quite the right fit with Silva because he slows down the ball down too much.
If Balotelli ever gets his head straight often enough to play, and concentrates a bit more when he does play, an attack of Silva - Aguero - Balotelli will be as dangerous as any in football.

And you now have another uber-creative player to pair with him. El Kun is exactly what City needed. MCFC is going to make serious noise in all competitions. I know it was against a decidely weaker squad, but it is quite clear that City is fricking loaded.
