I'm good either way.
Also, looks like we are trying to tie up Scott Dann by the end of the week. As long as we don't over pay I am good with him.

What time is the game on Saturday and is it on tv?

I like a season long thread with individual game threads.

The match on the 20th is early on ESPN or ESPN2. 6:45am kick off. Will probably be shown on tape delay at 9:00 at Finn's. They might open early for the match, but I doubt it.

Yea that's what I figured. Whatever time they show it, I will be there to watch it.

I was out of town this weekend with no access to FSC and forgot to set the DVR. I'm just getting to see the highlights from the Valencia game now.
Wholly shite Carroll looks different when in shape.
Look at this big fricker run

Close it when the transfer window closes.

These games may not happen with the riots...

I'm gonna be pissed if they don't happen. I've been looking forward to this for too long

I would be shocked if Adam didn't start. Kuyt shouldn't be in the starting XI IMO.

I agree. I think Charlie's passing out of the back of a 4-2-3-1 would be a great tool for Pool. But I think you have to have Kuyt out there in your opening day XI. He's been too productive for the club.
I think Gerrard's days as a key player for the club are numbered.

I agree. The opening XI won't be the consistent XI.

They absolutely are. Unless he begins to show flashes of his old self again, he will have to compete for a starting role. His health issues the past couple seasons are just too much of a glaring issue.

The log jam in midfield will be interesting to see how it unfolds.
With all that depth...the only ones who really have set spots right now are probably Lucas and Downing IMO.
Suarez is a withdrawn striker...so that's not really midfield.

Johnson is definitely out for the sunderland match and probably arsenal in week 2, but I agree that he'll be top XI when healthy. Kuyt will start sat, he's been a fixture for the side through the rebuilding and brings too much energy to leave him with the subs (actually, after Downing, I think Dirk starts more matches than anyone else this season). Suarez wasn't supposed to be back in action yet, but I'll be surprised if he doesn't enter the match st some point. As for Gerrard, if you had to pick the top XI in the world over the last decade, he's on the team. Even with his injuries the last few years, a fading world class talent like Stevie G can still contribute regularly to this club that aren't what we used to be. Oh, and if those frickers don't stop burning shite and cause the start of the season to be postponed, I might go insane...after the last couple seasons, the real possibility of competing is intoxicating.

God I hope not. We can do better.

Seriously? He will start less than Carra, Skrtel, Lucas, Downing and Suarez (barring injuries).

My rage will be felt in London.
