Any report on how Bradley played? I'm nervous for him even though he's proven he can play at that level.

He was substituted at halftime

According to Bigsoccer, he was forcing a shite-ton of passes close to halftime. According to another poster on Bigsoccer, apparently Zeman doesn't really "do" "safe" passes

I'm not sure how that term applies to soccer really, I know it's bad when a quarterback is forcing his passes..?

Yeah, more or less, here's the quote from the post:

about Mikey possibly forcing things, Zeman has openly stated he doesnt like useless backpasses

I would interpret it to mean that he was trying to find passes that were high risk, high reward i.e. he is picking the ball up and trying to pick out players well up the field with low percentage passes

He didn't play that well but he's just been with the team a couple of days.

Agree about Zeman emphasizing forward ultra fast paced passing. Zeman doesn't like possession. As he says, as soon as the team wins the ball he wants it lost into the back of the net as quickly as possible.

At this point he's just emphasizing faster passing but there hasn't been much ball practice in the first two weeks of training. It's supposedly been almost all conditioning. (Bradley, by the way, arrived in top shape with Totti jokingly saying he was like a Marine from the movies after his first workout.)

I think Bradley will be fine but today was a bit rough. He was trying to push the ball forward but his passing was inaccurate and he was caught in possession a couple of times. However, it bears repeating that the team had a full workout before the match and were playing on tired legs by Zeman's design.

Also: Boyd, even aside from the wonder goal, certainly looked a lot better with his control today than with the USMNT recently. He didn't get much service but when he did he looked dangerous every time.

I'm not sure if this deal is dead, but I like the Genoa president's sentiments (on young players, their agents... in general)

Hope he comes around and Roma can get him in...

I hoping that this was more Desto's agents/Juve's management trying to drive up the contract but it seems that Juve may actually be determined to outbid Roma and not just make Roma pay more.

Destro is a great prospect but this also a lot to do with Baldini/Zeman being central whistle blowers in Juve's recent scandals. This won't be the last instance of their management doing everything they can to interfere with Roma's rebuilding efforts.

I'm convinced that this is not in fact a professional Polish club, but rather a Sunday afternoon pub team of Chicago Polish-Americans.
