re: The Arsenal 2017/18: Au revoir Arsene, et merci.
Yeah, I quit getting excited about Arsenal being on tv after we lost to Forest. First time I’ve ever just quit making time to watch them. I don’t get excited when we play anymore, bar the Everton game. It’s just not the same sense of joy and wonder as I’ve had in years past, even when we sucked.

And yes, if the pundits keep clamoring for Henry or Arteta, we’ll have our own unqualified successor just like Orgeron to Miles.

I don’t think Arteta or Henry are ready to take over a job this big yet, but the former is one I definitely want to see coaching the club one day. I might be dead wrong but I think he has something special in him. Henry I feel would ruin his legacy, but who knows he may be a good manager.

I wish we’d get someone like Enrique or Jardim though. We need some new young blood, that will revolutionize this team and breathe new life into the club. No more old men, sorry Ancelotti

Whatever the answer is, it’s not Wenger. It’s been hard to watch the last month or two.

Or longer

I started developing this feeling about two or three year ago ago and starting sometime last season I just started watching American players abroad (esp Pulisic) and gave up watching arsenal. Same shite every game. Predictable. No joy in it.

Germany coach Joachim Low will be the leading candidate to succeed Arsene Wenger, sources have told ESPN FC, if, as is becoming increasingly likely, the Arsenal manager's 22-year reign ends this summer.
Yes, please.

The guy hasn't managed a club in forever.

That would be the only thing that would worry me.

I'm surprised to see positive reactions to this. Admittedly, I don't know a ton about Low's history prior to Die Manschaf, but it seems that transitioning from a team that plays 20 games a year that doesn't need to sign contracts with players to a club would be a big transition. However, if the plan is for him to be more of a coach than a manager, then that sounds more promising.

I'd assume this is the plan. Arsene has slowly been losing his grip on the club with the additions of former Barcelona director of football Raul Sanllehi and Sven Mislintat from Dortmund. Huss Fahmy is the new contract negotiator. A Director of Football seems inevitable once Wenger leaves. Maybe Sanllehi is promoted to that role.

If Lowe is strictly a coaching manager and doesn’t have to deal with the other things (due to prior appointments being made) then I’ll be very excited about his hire.
It’s hard to argue against what he’s done for Germany. Yeah, the fact that the DFB wanted to revolutionize their system helps, but he’s gotten them results.
Only negative I can recall is the Lahm/Ballack captaincy debate. Any others?

I want Jardim, but I’d be jumping-up-and-down-happy with Low.

Much like my feelings with Fisher or Herman.

I sure hope THIS doesn’t turn out like THAT did.

just even making that comparison makes me almost certain it will happen at Arsenal.
Imagine the scenes if we hired Steve bould
I’d just give up and be a fanboy for rent until it’s over

Bould has actually won a league title more recently than Wenger. Our youth teams under him were great.

I feel Bould would improve the defense if given the opportunity. For sure don’t want him as manager, but I think he could help us. Of course that’d mean Wenger has to give up some control which will never happen lol

Yeah Bould would improve the defense tremendously. I wish Wenger would give him that sort of control.

Can we just give Allegri 10M+ already and be done with it?

All this talk about a new manager has me assuming Wenger is out this summer. That is a given right? There is no way he can possibly be back to finish his contract. We are thousands of miles away and get overly angry over this. I can't imagine how toxic the Emirates would become next season.
