We've gotten screwed out of at least 3 penalties this season so I'm not going to complain about a soft one.

Look so much better this half. Really liking elnenys play. Some of his drives are reminiscent of wilshere of old. Plus he's got the legs to cover ground. Monreal is playing superb.

Elneny really impressed tonight. He does a little bit of everything you would want from a center mid.

And it let's Ramsey be free to operate like with Wales.

Ehlneny has done very well...his distribution and movement has been a joy to watch

It was nice seeing Arsenal control the second half and pretty much end any chance of dropping points. WBA had nothing. It's these kind of performances that will be needed over the next 4 EPL matches to get back into the conversation for top 4. Being 7th at the moment is encouraging after the poor start.
I'll be interested to see what sort of squad Arsene brings to Belarus with a team on 2 days rest with a game 3 days later.

Just had a chance to watch the match. Love the fight some guys showed but we still need to get our defense in order.

Holding, Mertesacker, Nelson, Maitland-Niles
Wilshere, Elneny, Ozil
Walcott Giroud Willock

I'm guessing you meant to have Nelson and Holding swapped. I'm fine with that lineup, but I don't know how willing Wenger is to go with a back 4. Also, I'd be a little worried having 2 non fullbacks playing fullback.

According to George Byrd, Chuba Akpom, Matt Macey, Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah, Joe Willock and Josh Dasilva were all rested in the last U-23.
Pretty sure Chambers and Iwobi are injured, in addition to Welbeck and Coquelin. We are either going to have to play a back 4 or play a first team player or play a U-23 player like Dasilva.
I think we'll see something like...
Ospina
Holding-Mertesacker-Dasilva
Nelson-Wilshere-Elneny-Maitland Niles
Walcott-Giroud-Akpom
Maybe Alexis on the left instead of Akpom.

I did mean to switch Holding and Nelson.
Yeah I like Dasilva too. If we have hope for him, which we apparently do, it's a good test. I would maybe start Ozil and play him 60 min or so and then sub him for either Sanchez or Akpom/Willock depending upon how the game is going. Gives him a run out and keeps our attack strong while still giving him the ability to play against Brighton

Looks like Kos, Ramsey, Ozil, Xhaka, Kola, Bellerin, Nacho, and Lacazette were left in London for tomorrow's game. That got me to wondering, in a situation like this, do they get together to watch the game? Would they go to the Arsenal facilities, meet at someone's house, or do we assume they may put it on at home if they feel like it?
It's kind of a weird circumstance that doesn't happen much, if at all, in American sports.

Looking at the bench makes me realize how much more I could follow Arsenal. Before this season, I would only be able to say I'd seen or heard of Akpom.
I do like our lineup and look forward to seeing how they can do on the road.

Does Jack technically get an assist since since tapped in after a save? He should.
Theo has been clinical the last two seasons. His goals per minutes has to be best on the team.
His set piece delivery is a bit lacking though lol.

quote:He should. I see it as basically Theo taking a touch before his shot. Wasn't it going in before his second touch anyway?

And Theo does it again! What a horrible pass from the keeper

Wow Europa league groupstage looks like its going to be a cake walk. Good experience for our youngsters and a chance to rest starters with minimal worry.
Hide the women and children it's getting ugly.

Jack looks great.
Don’t wanna jinx myself, but Arsenal were even money at -1.
And as I type that, Holdinho!
