you're punishing the man. who cares about the team. he's a danger no matter what uniform he wears and I hope this is his last chance. One more egregious offense and he should be gone for good

Not so sure why it would be goodbye season. He was out last year until late September. Based on last years schedule, it would only be 4 additional PL games.

Don't think it will matter though. I don't expect him to be back.

Big difference last year Liverpool didn't have the target on their back and the burden of Champions League football. The squad will be tested like it was not last year and losing him makes a big difference.

I wasn't expecting to make a serious run at the CL title, though I guess it was possible... I'm still happy with top 4 this year.

Again, you are assuming we are going to be sitting on our hands doing nothing... there are still over two months to go in the summer window... I have faith in FSG to make accommodations this summer..

As for Luis, I hope he comes back with the same fury of this year and destroys teams... Then, put him in the shop window next summer and wish him well...

LFC can't appeal according to FIFA. only Uruguay. and their lawyers are apparently looking at whether a transfer is a "football related activity" (which amuses me).

i don't necessarily think it punishes the club more than his country because he's out for the biggest match(es) for his country. i mean, missing the knockout stage at the World Cup, one of two competitions that mean anything to a South American country, seems to me to be a bigger deal than even 15-20 matches of 60 in a club season. it really sucks for both.

They aren't doing it to punish the team. Unfortunately that is a chance you ale when you sign a crazy person.

Using your logic, a murderer that is sole provider for the family shouldn't be punished because it would hurt the family. That's silly.

Well that is changing the tune of being league contenders which you were having him out there a full year. Time for you guys to just let him go.

No one you bring in can replace him.

yep, and we were still in first when he came back.. That was basically without Raheem too... he only got back into the first team in December...

I'm not saying its not a blow, you don't lose a player of his immense quality and it not have an impact, but I think we'll be OK...

True, but in the over all grand scheme of things, they probably weren't ready to make a deep run in the CL given how thin the squad is.

I wouldn't be completely broken down if they crash out in the group stage if it affords them the opportunity to concentrate on finishing top 4 and keeping the momentum going from last season.

It will be interesting to see how FSG responds. I was a Liverpool fan long before Luis and I will be one long after.

They're not punishing Liverpool. They're punishing Suarez.

Ummm, actually its not silly since, up until today, most FIFA bans for international play HAVE NOT carried over to club play... So, while I may have to accept it, which I will.. the previous suspension guidelines prove it is far from silly logic and more the norm...

you equating a sports governing body to a criminal one, is what is silly...

He may be and if we get a good deal for him, its best for the club and I'll be happy!

That said, what club is going to buy a player this year that can't play the first 2 months?? We won't let him go for peanuts...
