Thats stupid, it hurts the whole team... if anything, he should sit out the rest of the season and come back next fresh and hopefully "rehabilitated"

That's the risk you take by having someone like that on your roster. It's not like anyone this took anyone by surprise. LFC knew what they were getting into when they signed him and if they didn't he has certainly shown them over the last couple of years. If you don't want to worry about suspensions that "hurt the whole team" then don't carry a player like Suarez.

So his punishment for a second biting offense should be to miss a few meaningless games? That's absurd. Also, he isn't getting "rehabilitated" he is what he is, a diving, handballing, biting, cheat pos. If that's not clear to you by now you've got your head buried wayyy too deep in that red sand.

Just curious Randy, but do you feel the same way about Defoe's punishment for doing the exact same thing? He only got a yellow. Should he have received 10 games? Do you see Defoe as a POS biter, because he bit Javi?

Didn't see it so hard to say for sure. Also, biting someone once is one thing. Inexplicable really but I think anybody is capable of doing something once. Biting someone twice is truly outrageous.
Just going on what you said no I don't think Defoe is a POS because to my knowledge he has no other history of doing pos type things. I'd say a red and a 4-5 game suspension is approrpriate for an initial biting offense.

It wasn't the same situation for one. It was a heat of the moment after a shitty tackle. He lost his mind and should have been punished, but not the same. Oh and Suarez has done it before. First time, maybe forgive. Second time, nah.

No, but I'm sure he doesnt feel the same way about players who kick ball boys, shoot people with bb guns and sleep with teammates GFs...
He's just saying this shite to be "hard line" Randy... he cant possibly believe all the crap that comes out of his mouth...
John Terry has a history for being an all around POS, off the field and on, but he's Randy's hero...

That makes it less reprehensible?

Well it didn't really happen and even if it had it was deserved.

Why would I say something I didn't believe?
Suarez is trash and has proven it a number of times on a number of levels, it's a pretty universally accepted fact at this point.

alright, gotcha... as I was saying...

It's because it is so socially unacceptable.
So let me get this straight. He is charged with violent conduct, but instead of suspending him based on the severity of his actions, his suspension is determined because the action is socially unacceptable. Stupidest thing I've ever read.
You can check the Liverpool thread to see what other recent suspensions look like. Taken in the context of "violent action," there is no reason why Suarez should have gotten over three times the standard punishment for an action that caused very little harm.

I'm confused. It seemed like you guys had finally come to your senses on Suarez after the match Sunday. Are you guys actually saying 10 games (half of which are meaningless) is too harsh given his history?
Posted on 4/25/13 at 1:20 pm to RandySavage
Randy you have to understand the irrational 8th grade logic of these liverpool fans. They will defend suarez until he's off the team. To even start making excuses for him not being banned blows my mind.

That is most ridiculous hyperbole I have ever read, ever.
Look, I'm not going to pretend I know exactly how they lay down suspensions and rulings in the FA. I was just saying why I think this is considered different than an elbow or a hard tackle.

Randy, the punishment itself isn't really what is upsetting. It is the fact that the FA exhibits zero consistency when handing out punishments when the man being punished is Luis Suarez. I just think that it's not fair that he be held to a higher standard than the entire rest of the footballers in England. If Defoe got 10 matches or something similar, then OK. But it WAS the same thing and the punishment for Suarez is so much worse. That, for the life of me, I don't get.

For fricks sake, NO ONE is making excuses for his actions. We just want the SAME standard to apply to every footballer. It's different for Suarez, and you know it. THAT is irrational. THAT is not fair.
Posted on 4/25/13 at 1:42 pm to Meursault
How do you know it's different? I mean I was with you on the Evra thing because Evra is such a douche but I don't get the complaint here. What footballer has ever had two instances where they have bitten another player during a match? There is no precedent for this level of repulsiveness.

there was a precedent for the racism charge and Terry received 4 games... not the 8 previously handed down...
again, the hypocrisy...
edit: for frick's sake, Rooney kicks that player out of anger in the run up to the Euro's and gets suspended... what does the FA do? Hire a fricking lawyer to get the ban reduced, so he can help their Euro chances...
