Honestly kinda sad he's at Barcelona. They're a disaster.

Definitely would have preferred Bayern. Hopefully he gets the minutes he needs at Barca.

I’m torn over where I want to see him. I think Barcelona is the easier path to minutes at the moment, but I worry about the dumpster fire they have there, with a coach who is likely only going to be there for a year.
On the other hand, Bayern is a well oiled machine, but he’d be second choice fighting for minutes. I think he might be a bit of a primadonna, and Bayern’s structure might better suit him In terms of personal development, but the kind of ball Barca is known for, or was known for, suits his skill set the best. I just worry more about his work ethic going to Barcelona.
Ultimately, I don’t know what I’m talking about. I just hope the new challenge brings the best out in him, because he’s been looking to get out of Ajax ever since these rumors started kicking off, and it shows on the pitch.

another example of La Liga developing talent

He´ll likely burn out and become bottom tier EPL fodder, or a big boy, upon crossing the pond back home.

I have watched Dest like twice so I have no clue, but who was the last player Barca brought in that was worth a frick
Only one that’s shown flashes is de Jong.
Their club management is an absolute mess.

Don't forget Steffen is now the #2 at Man City.
Not the best situation as he'll only get cup starts, but hes an injury or suspension away from starting there.

Biggest thing for Steffen is training under Pep and being in a winning culture.

Turner needs to get to Europe ASAP. With Steffen on the bench at City, that spot can be up for grabs for someone getting regular playing time.

Based on all USA talent has floundered in Spain. Jozy was the messiah, at Villarreal, if you recall.
The little Messis, etcetera, haven´t survived the competition at RM or Barça (and yes, Barça isn´t a solid, logical home for someone in need of grooming).

What does Barca buying him have to do with Dest being a flame out though?

So your argument is because Jozy flamed out, Dest will?
Seems flawed.

I have mixed feelings. He can jump in and play right away at Barca whereas with Bayern he would have been behind Pavard potentially. Maybe hendo can give some insight.
