Netherlands may have what it takes to surpass - they've had talent and gotten close, kind of similar to Spain before they were starting to dominate; hmmmmmm just sayin'

As some of you know I'm a big bayern fan and I just really don't see robben as a capable leader of a club team or national team. He's a choke artist extraordinaire, fairly weak mentally, so I feel like for them to break through it will be via someone else. Phenomenal talent, but doesn't have that killer instinct to win. Of course, this is just my opinion.

I like the Dutch this year and obviously Germany, I feel like Spain is due for a letdown tournament. It's tough to explain to a casual soccer fan how much fun the Euros are and the level of play is far beyond the world cup as a whole. Also to the countries and their fans that are in the Euros it matters just as much to them as the world cup imho

Easily a harder tournament to win than the World Cup. Easily.

I stand by my statement, but yeah that one is freaking hard to explain.

I just can't agree. The average team may be stronger at the European Cup, and I absolutely love it, but I don't believe it's easier to win a tournament after throwing teams like Brazil and Argentina into the mix. That's not including teams like the USA, Mexico, Chile, Uruguay, South Korea, Ghana, etc.

More games, more teams, more chances to be knocked out.. Also it includes everyone in the euros.. It's just like playing the euros but having to compete against a few other teams that have a change (however small) to upset you and take you out of the running

I would have to say the knockout rounds can be tougher, but I think it's much tougher to get out of your group in the Euros. Don't get to play the Saudi Arabias and the new Zealands. Granted there are a couple of sub par teams, but with a 16 team field the talent is more concentrated

Yes.. but 8 games where 4 are tough 1-2 are medium and 2 are easy is still harder than just 4 tough games.

Especially when you consider that some of the toughest games may come against teams from other Confederations.

I'd agree that you'd almost never have a group like Germany, Portugal, Netherlands and Denmark in the WC.
