Rank Best USMNT players right now...

1)Deuce
2) Baby Bradley
3)Landy
4)Howard
This is where it gets tricky IMO. At this moment,
5)Fabian Johnson
6)Jermaine Jones
7)Jozy
8)Dolo
I stop at 8 because i can no longer really justify any of my rankings. Id like to put Holden in there somewhere but its hard to know with out him playing. T.Chandler might deserve some consideration but im not sure he counts as a member of the team yet. There are also a lot of good young guys that dont qualify yet.
What say you?

Not exactly on topic, but I've been wanting to spitball this idea for a while..
Everybody knows that England's national team just isn't that great right? They're decent enough to get to the semi's of the euros.. but that's about it.
Now look at their lineup.. Can you name any position where they would improve their team by taking a current USMNT player in that spot? Dempsey is about it, maybe Bradley, and maybe Howard.
So i guess my point is temper your expectations on the US team?
Everybody knows that England's national team just isn't that great right? They're decent enough to get to the semi's of the euros.. but that's about it.

I feel like Landon would start of Milner. Dempsey over Wellbeck. That's all I got. Scott Parker still starts over Bradley imo.

Unfortunately England suffers a bit from the same problem as the USMNT. There's a lot of players that can be successful in clubs plugged in with more technical ones around them but struggle when it's just them and they're faced with teams that are just better on the ball. Guys like Walcott, Young, Milner etc etc just need smoother technical players around them to be really effective . . . .
I'd take Bradley over Parker.
Terry and Lescott really impressed me a great deal in the Euro's. We don't have anyone near their level unfortunately.

England always seems to perform at a level that is less than the sum of their parts imo and I am a big England fan. That said I think Howard and Hart are about equal. Dempsey is better than everyone but rooney up top, dolo over g johnson maybe?

Well the question was for right now, but I kind of agree. He might be over Johnson, honestly. When he was in his top form with Bolton it was seriously like watching something I had never seen from an American player. His tackling was awesome, his passing was crisp, and he played very intelligently.

Outside of Dempsey, Donovan, and Howard. Not sure any of our other players would have a legit shot to make their roster though.

Deuce is a world class player. Bradley and Howard are talented as well. Donovan's a wild card because from everything I've seen, I'm not sure in a year if he's going to be playing the game or jump off of a bridge. The dude seems extremely down. It's like he's just realized that there really aren't going to be any more new episodes of Friends, which is understandable. I'd still put him up there if his mind was in a good place.
As for the comparison to England, we also can't forget that for the most part, their national team is like the Royal Family, their fondness of queueing, and their flair for the proper. They have a line up of great players, but there always seems to be an excuse or let down. Their problem? It's isn't talent. They're far too into their tradition, which is far overblown above what it is in reality. It's arrogance as an organization, and most of all, it's arrogance in the media. This was evident for the World Cup when they got cocky about their group. England's biggest problem is England, and if they swallowed their pride and admitted that they have a ton of work to do to go further than the quarters, they could probably become dangerous.

England, however, could put together a sizeable, technically sound collection of players using their underutilized, (currently) physically broken, or frustratingly skillful players.
