. I've not heard fans chanting negatively towards the players. Just Rafa.
That's the point. He's saying support your fricking team instead of trash your manager. Sing songs to urge the guys forward. Spend time swinging your little plastic flags. Not incessantly bitching 90% of the game about the coach. That negativity will carry over to the pitch.

So 2 chants a game aimed at Rafa outweigh 20 urging players? Oh, and maybe if Rafa put a quality product out there, the fans would have something to sing about. One thing is for sure, Chelsea fans will gladly swing their plastic flags and shove them straight up your midtable team's arse. At least we aren't happy with average.

He never said that people were chanting against the players from what I heard. Find that quote.
He didn't say it, but he was implying that the fans don't urge the team on, which is shite. It's an excuse for a guy that is failing at his job. Blame others, never yourself.

Who me? Why would I be mad that a manager, that I didn't want, sealed his exit? Rafa? Oh he mad.

FWIW, the Chelsea fans on Reddit who actually go to games say that Stamford Bridge is quiet except for the "One Di Matteo" chant or the FSW chants. Say there is no chanting at all about the team.
Pretty solid post from a season ticketholder for over a decade.
It's definitely TL;dr worthy.

Right, let me blow off a bit of steam here.... Context - I live a mile away from Stamford Bridge, my father is a tour guide there, him and I have shared a season ticket in the Matthew Harding Upper for 16 years... The way that our fans have acted towards this is absolutely shameful. There have been times this year where I have actually been ashamed to be a fan of this club. It just annoys me.
1. Yes, Roberto di Matteo was sacked by the club. Was this the right thing to do. Personally I think no, but the decision was taken. Was this Benitez's fault? No.
2. Benitez was appointed by the club. Is that his fault. Yes, because any manager who is out of a job will want to find another job. If the defending champions of Europe (you can complain about their style of play in winning - but they did win the Champions League because of it) and consistent top four club like Chelsea offer you a job, you take it.
3. The big "apparent issue". The comments made years ago. Right, so you're the manager of a team, you've got a game coming up against fierce rivals or you've had comments said about your team. What do you do? Ignore them? Then you're seen as accepting the comments or can't think of a response to them. You'd respond with something back, no? The hypocrisy that people show is ridiculous sometimes. Who did we have as a manager for 3 years? Jose Mourinho. Did he NEVER say something about another team or fans in a provocative way? Of course he did. The fact of the matter is, he was defending his own club and at the same time firing back a riposte which is controversial enough to make the headlines the next day. If he were the full time manager of Chelsea, would he make a similar comment about another team? YES....
Now I acknowledge that results have been far from great since he took over. However, my personal feel is that it's not a case of the tactics, the players don't seem to want to play for him. They did the same under Avram Grant, and although they think it their way of getting back at the owner, ultimately it just hurts the team in the long run.
No Champions League next season - a loss of a lot of TV money that could then be used to buy new players... Especially now that we are trying to adhere to the Financial Fair Play rules.
I'm sorry that this post is so long, it just annoys me that Chelsea fans have stopped supporting their team and are instead just focussing on Benitez. I remember the Stamford Bridge of 4/5 years ago. It was loud, it was raucous, it was an atmosphere. Chelsea went 86 games unbeaten at the bridge. EIGHTY SIX GAMES IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE... IN A ROW. This season? Quiet. When the fans aren't singing "One Di Matteo" or directing shite at Benitez, they're mostly quiet. If you're a team at home, do you play well if your fans aren't singing? No.
Right, you're probably really bored of this comment now, so I'm sorry for this but I do feel Chelsea fans have been particularly shite this season...
tl;dr - I'd prefer if you read it, but ultimately he runs the team, give the man a damn break, if he's being questioned every game (win or lose) what's the point? /endrant

So does FSC's broadcast "can" in chants? Because they are clearly audible on the broadcast.

I love this picture. The girls hand is white and her arm is tan. Does she wear a glove like MJ? Probably a Fulham fan then.

Rafa is being honest and if the players don't step it up they could possibly not finish 4th. Which for either of our sides would be a calamity.
