I'm saying Zardes was that typical he's fast just boot it up to him kid we all saw playing growing up. But lacks touch, vision, finishing, passing etc.

Yup. My co-worker who rarely watches soccer commented Yesterday after the gold cup saying basically that zardes was all speed no finesse, and what a shame it was that his athleticism allowed him tons of space but his skills couldn't keep up with his body.

. Either way, he never played well under Jurgen for whatever reason. He always looked like he was playing tight and a bit tentative. Looks much more free now and the results are beginning to show.

I agree. He looks like a totally different player. I get excited when he gets the ball because he's so unpredictable sometimes and can turn on a dime / break ankles. I'd like to see him take more shots at goal or get in position to score more, but he does well once he gets the ball. His distribution could be a bit quicker.

we say that about Zardes but he very well could be heading to Russia in a year.

I'd put money on it. He probably won't see much time, but he'll make the roster. He's not terrible but I'm ok with him as a late sub in the right circumstances, but no way for playing a full game.

When Zardes comes on late he can press tired defenses. I'm ok with him as a late sub to send in crosses.

Pulisic and Nagbe together in the middle

Seems like that would only work in a 3-CM formation with Bradley or Acosta in the mix. Nagbe isn't as strong on the defensive side as the offensive side.

I dunno, I feel like he's pretty good at passing/crossing. The ball in that Morris ended up winning gold cup was a great hit.

Everything else, I agree with.

What? The cross wasn't near any of our players. A poor attempt at a clearance by Jamaica pushed the ball to Dempsey who touched it to Morris.

It was sent into a dangerous spot with heavy pace... Not a technical ball, but very dangerous.

He was getting closed down really quickly and he had to get off a cross very quickly. He kept it low and in a very dangerous area. I'm not saying he or that cross was world class, but I think it's fair to say he has value out wide.

(bonus when people were hyped about Zardes LINK )
