That's the kind of analytic data I need in my life.

Sure he is. People just keep expecting him to be something he's not. When you look at what he actually is, he's still an extremely valuable piece to have.
How often have we had a ton of trouble getting out of pressure in our own half/middle third and end up losing the ball or just booting it downfield? That's where Nagbe earns his keep.

As a what?
ETA: Is this going to be like that time that you thought Guzan and Steffen were neck-and-neck for first choice keeper? Don't make McKennie your Steffen.

If we’re choosing MLS midfielders for the 23-man squad based on their current form, Cristian Roldan is more deserving than Nagbe or Lletget, IMO.
Roldan has scored two great goals in his last two games. He’s remained solid defensively while contributing much more to Seattle’s attack this season. I see him being like the Bedoya of this WC cycle and consistently making the squad on the bench and putting in good work when called upon.
Nagbe is who he is. Very technical and talented, takes care of the ball. But doesn’t contribute nearly enough to the attack for his talent, and sometimes not great defensively.
Lletget has the most attacking talent of those three, but he’s currently not in good form. I’ll be kind of surprised if he makes the final squad, unless he really impresses in camp.
I think this is a good team overall, just a bit concerned with our depth at forward and outside back. Jozy has to stay healthy.

Second time this has been said in this thread.
Can this be his new name on this board?

That does sum it up pretty well. Don't put him on the wing or as a 10. He's not comfortable there. He's that guy that shuttles the ball from the defense to the attacking players, and it's something that we have sorely lacked in the recent years.

The problem is that both McKennie and Adams are infinitely better than him in filling that role.

Yep, and that’s why I would hesistate picking Nagbe over Roldan if it comes to that. Nagbe is very good at the one role he can do, but not better than McKennie or Adams.
Roldan isn’t amazing, but he’s in great form and he can play anywhere in the midfield. Much more versatile player than Nagbe. Perfect guy to bring off the bench as a midfield sub, like Bedoya was.

Adams is much more of a DM, and I don't think McKennie is consistently as good with the ball.
Adams may be better than him in that position, but we already have him as a starter elsewhere.

Sure, but he is still a better 8 than Nagbe.

than Nagbe? holy MLS batman

Nagbe has better ball control than McKennie. I agree with that point. Is he a better overall player? No.

Gyau over Green and Wooten is really weird imo

Just an FYI, US Soccer just released an app.

So the 28 man roster released for the Jamaica friendly is not the final roster for the Gold Cup I am assuming, correct?
Or did I just miss something and Tyler Adams got hurt?
