Practicing when not allowed to?

This is a no win situation for anybody. I've decided to not hold practices, even conditioning when it was permitted. Players want to get out and play, but the state is sending mixed signals. Also this has become so politicized that when I told parents that there will probably be things like temperature checks when we return, I had one lady yelling at me that it was a violation of HIPAA.

The powers that be let MS kids get back to it on the 1st of this month. Actually saw a practice match between the Port City and Mobile clubs this weekend...youth are just practicing and trying out.
HS tryouts today. Not sure if they’re pulling my son up or not. ETA: Not on day 1 of tryouts...

It's hard to explain to people that my daughter's LSA club practice is limited to standing like 10 feet apart and kicking a ball back and forth, yet LHSAA rules allows her High School to have workouts with less restrictions. Then there's the fact that she's allowed to play indoor games with full contact, and also have full practices with a team that isn't under LSA guidance.
I do have concerns that LSA is going to slow play the entire process, and those clubs are not going to be able to return to full competition as quickly as non-LSA clubs are

One of the comments suggested that it's Mandeville Soccer Club doing the snitching.

Yes, I read it as MSC snitching as well. Apparently MSC is being crazy restrictive right now on what they are allowing players to do. A parent we know there said they are only allowing solo work at the limited group trainings-as in you can't pass the ball to team mates.
Maybe MSC just wants everyone to take it as seriously as they are...
LSA, as usual, is leading the curve on stupid actions. At this rate we will not be able to hold full practices or play games by the fall.

Wonder which Karen called it in.

Yeah, I figured we were screwed when I saw this awesome post in a thread on their FB page about why can baseball be in full swing but not soccer (bold is mine)

Frankly LSA doesn't understand either. Dugouts are packed, the stands are full and kids toss the virus (ball) around with abandon. The Governor either has no idea what a youth baseball game looks like or he bowed to political pressure to open it. All we can do is protect our kids as the science tells us we should.

I can’t handle the stupidity when someone thinks “if they just wait another month then everything will be “safe.” Nothing will change in a month. Just implement safety precautions as best as you can and go play. Hell the summer is the best time because higher temp knocks down the virus more.

What’s lsa going to do with phase 3 now?

LSA announced full practice and play, subject to local parish restrictions.

Damn right. I want SELASA to start back up.
