If Dempsey is moved there better be a new thread.

I really hope for Clint's sake the deal gets done. It would be way too awkward to go back to Fulham now

I'm not following the news closely, I can but it would likely be 2 to 3 hours after the fact.

I'm relying on the SB to update me in a timely fashion. Not sure if they'll have it on the FIFA ticker, so I'll settle for a slight delay.

I'm taking a break. I've been glued to the tv since 6 am. This is not healthy.

It will be interesting to see how they use him with Micah Richards. If they move to 3 in the back I'd expect Micah to move to CB and Maicon to play wing back.

Should be relatively small. Inter has been trying to dump Maicons massive salary for a while. Now they are rebuilding and he is nearing the twilight of his career so makes sense to allow him to move on.

He still has the potential to be a great back for a few more years. Consistent, has a knack for scoring unbelievable goals out of nowhere.

I'm gonna miss him.

ETA: Bob with the perfect summary of the how much and why of this move. Unfortunately for me, Inter always sells to the wrong side of Manchester.

Substitute Serbian with French and you would be talking about Arsenal.

We signed a 17 year old Macedonian keeper yesterday... that counts for something right?

Maicon is still a pretty good player and people emphasize those matches against Bale too much... £3mm is a damn good bit of business...

thanks, this seems to make a bit more sense than scotty sinclair. sucks for him that his development is probably going to get stunted...... swansea appears to be a strong club though, even if they are small.

Yeah no kidding in one match he went from the "best fullback in the world" to past his prime. He struggled a little bit with motivation after Mourinho left Inter. He's not quite as quick as he used to be but he is a very solid defense player who is willing to run up and down the wing all match.

He also has a nice cross on him and some pretty impressive technique with his shots. He hit that one goal for Brazil at an impossible angle during WC 10 and has a pretty impressive collection of screamers he's scored from outside (often on the edge) of the box at Inter.

Hit the unofficial Serie A goal of the year last year. I would have a link, but I'm in class.

Look it up. From the win against AC in May.

maicon fee rumored to be 3 million. I think that is a good price for a player with a little more tread on the tires. He will give us some much needed relief with MR injury
