The English side of my family played several prominent roles during the glory days of the English empire. My favourite tale was of my Grandfather George dedicating a baptismal font from a posh Church in Belgravia, London to the largest church in Lagos in the early 1950's.
We visited the site of the church when I was a petulant lad of about 16 and I didn't have much interest at the time, but would love to go back sometime.
