But hey, on a positive note we're 2nd in our group, and still undefeated in Europa!

And half the team still looks like it doesn't know each other.

We've got PLENTY of time to get going. People forget we're only 8 games into the EPL.

It will probably take a few months for Klopp to get the team to actually play his way. Meanwhile, there's probably going to be at least one attempted insurrection from senior players who don't want to run/train the way Klopp wants them to.

What? Like who? Milner is new and Lucas and Skrtel will do anything for the club.

Don't see anyone on our squad who would pull this except maybe Sturridge but I've never really known him to be lazy, just injury prone.

No idea. That's just how these things go.

I can see it. Perhaps it may not be one of our most experienced players, but it has been said on other forums I frequent that Klopp will get rid of the fat.

Klopp says that there's fluid in Sturridge's knee and will need a scan...

I watched late last night when I got home... How we didn't get a second, I'll never know... but it goes to prove we still need better quality in front of goal.. I do think when all our injured players are back and get time together, the goals will come.

I think Lallana was our best attacking player on the day... and Sakho was a rock at the back... I'm still amazed that BR was so determined to play Lovren ahead of him.. IMO, Sakho is one of the top CBs in the EPL.. Skrtel HAS to be replaced.. if not in January, by this summer... He simply isn't good enough and is getting paid too much to be a backup...

I'm really enjoying watching Can play in the MF... He still has a lot to learn, but when he does frick up, it's not as costly as when he is in at CB.. You can tell he has the talent, desire and drive to become a great!

Coutinho was disappointing.. But it was good to see Firmino and Benteke get some game time..

Ive read a lot and I think some may expect Klopp to work miracles this season (not necessarily on this board)... IMO he gets a pass this season (to a degree) as long as you can see progress and his system being implemented.. In the two matches he's been here, I think you already can..

Agree 100%. This will be close to another rebuild and I trust him to find the talent to fit his system.

I'm excited to see what he can do with Henderson's motor.

All that said, I'll prob still be critical of individual matches... But with an eye on the big picture

TBH, depending on the lineup (no Studge/Benteke mainly)... A draw with SOTON may not be the worst result... I hope we can pull it out at Anfield though!

edit: I meant to add in my earlier post that Origi isn't quite ready to lead the line by himself.. Ideally, he would benefit from a loan to an EPL team.. With our current striker shortage, that aint happening.. Hopefully, he is gaining valuable experience and confidence right now..

damn, just read Ms post on Studge's knee..

I really, really, really want to hold out hope for Studge being our 1A striker... I'll reserve judgement whether Benteke can be that guy for Klopp... But We may need to go get one this summer..

I think it's time to just cut bait with him... He's been out more than he's played the last few years.

I'm not sure Benteke is the right fit either (like it was said earlier).

Hard to say since all we do is kick aimless crosses into him covered by 4 defenders.

He needs more chances to use his feet like on that counter when he hit the post.

Sturridge is getting to the point where he offers hardly anything with these injuries. Can't depend on him.

My bigger issue with Benteke is will he put in the work to press... he was pretty lazy with Villa and not much more with us so far...

The good thing is, that just takes effort... if he wants to play for Klopp he'll either do it or be gone..

I really thought he had that one chance that hit the post... He also blundered a cross he should have put on target, but he gets a pass from me since he is just back...

Out of the players I have question marks on, he's the one I want to succeed the most...

The next couple of months are a try out for a lot of our players. If they make the cut they play Klopp's way, if not we'll find someone to take their place. I think FSG is all in with Klopp, especially with the expansion project. We now have a manager who can pull top talent who are dying to play for the guy. These players are either going to get on board or be gone.

Amen. I felt we played 10x better versus Rubin even though we clearly just don't have enough talent. I can't wait to see what Klopp does when he gets the squad he wants.

We've stuck it out this long with Studge, might as well see what he can do on the pitch when he's fit (hopefully sometime soon). We all know he's world class when fit

The thing with Sturridge is, he only cost us £12mm... and no one will pay his worth (whatever that is), with his injury history... We may as well keep him... But, we would be fools to rely on him to be our main striker..

If Benteke comes good, then we're alright... If not, we have to get one in the summer...

It's a shame Mario is such a head case, because we already have a world class talent on loan...

Not many clubs can boast the talent at striker of Sturridge, Balotelli and Benteke... It's just a shame between injuries and attitude, we can barely get 1 1/2 players out of them...
