Well we played better. A better lineup IMO also, but I would've preferred a true diamond with 4 at the back. Milner was everywhere, but Lucas doesn't have the motor anymore to cover as much space as he needed in that formation. But yea, we still suck at finishing and scoring goals which is killing us.

Yeah, that was my assumption when I saw the squad announced... we shouldn't need a back 3 against Norwich... at least it eased Moreno back in, with less defensive duties... he was fantastic! Sakho had the left side on lock down..
If we finish just one of the many good looks we had, its an expected win and something to build on... as it is, given the way the season started, its not good... we should beat Norwich at home.. every time!
IMO, once everyone is healthy.. we're bound to start scoring goals, in spite of BR...
sad thing is, as bad as the majority of the traditional top teams have been the past two seasons, coming off 13/14 and our nice windfall, we should have cemented our place in the top 4 the past three seasons... not looking for positives out of a home draw with Norwich..

Welp. Thoughts:
- Cou, Studge, and Teke look to have a pretty good understanding of each other and that will only get better.
- Who was that Moreno guy? MOM for me by far. He was incredible.
- Ings played very well I thought. He runs for miles and had some very good looks. Needs to be a bit better finishing but so does everyone else to be fair.
- Milner was our worst player by far I thought. He's brilliant as the engine, but in a game like this where we didn't really have a MF battle, he was useless. Missed pass after pass and the man just can't finish. The more I watch him, the more I'm convinced he's a winger and not suited to the center. His passing range is much too subpar for CM in a game like this.
Also, I'll echo that it wasn't BR's fault in this one. Starting formation was right, substitutions were right, shape change was right. The players just didn't finish. However, at this point I wonder if the player's confidence in front of goal has just been so shattered by Brendan's ineptitude that it might not matter how much he gets right tactically. It seems like there's just nothing that can really fix it at this point.

I agree... I think he may do ok on the right side of a diamond... but not in a 2 man midfield..

There were at least 4 or 5 times we had a man in behind and he missed the pass.

How depressing is it that arguably the best we play all season is a draw with Norwich at home?
24 hrs and I still can't get over that.

My thoughts exactly haha I was glad to see the formation change and players being plugged in their natural positions, but this is a game you cannot afford to draw. This should have been the formation all season long to build some team chemistry. I would have gladly let Origi or Ings start in place of an injured Studge to allow the other 10 to learn the flow and pace in this tactic. I liked what I saw for the most part, and at least we showed some offensive push, but to draw against Norwich at home is just bad.

Add the Razorbacks and The Boys' to your sports portfolio and get back to me.

It's frustrating. But I guess I'm happy with progress. Moreno, Ings, and Sakho all stood out to me. The quality was there. But as we have seen in previous years, when you are bedding in so many new faces it just takes time for the offense to "click". I'm cautiously optimistic.

why did it take him this long to go with this lineup?
Sahko, of course looked immense.
He's a moron. I'm done with him.

The million dollar question. I don't fricking know, man. I don't understand him at all.

His huge nose vs Bret Bielema's huge gut.
Not sure which one I dislike more.

Disagree there.
He lead this squad to 5 shite performances where players were played in a formation that suited no one, and yet, he continued on for 5 matches haha Had it been 1 or 2 fine, but it clearly wasnt working, yet he continued on. I am done with him, regardless of results. He has demonstrated a total lack of awareness that I cannot look past. He finally did the logical thing in putting the team into a tactic and place where it could succeed, and for that I thank him, but it does not erase what he did previously. Almost makes me wonder if 1. someone else finally cracked his thick skull and he took advice, 2. he fell and hit his head, or 3. someone forced (higher ups) him to employ a new strategy. Either way I am glad we reached this point, but for it to take this long is infuriating.

Liverpool has 5 goals in all comps this season...
Lewandowski had 5 goals in NINE minutes today
