We have a league game 3 days before the final. I don't give a shite if we start bogdan and the U-16s on the pitch, no one in the Europa squad should even come close to playing. We need a trophy and a CL spot.

Emery´s Sevilla is crafty, and it will be difficult.
I thought Villarreal would take Liverpool out early, it was a great idea. As I´ve said in this thread, I fully expected Liverpool to pass.
Sevilla will clamp and bite.

Just got done watching the match after trying to avoid spoiler updates on my phone all aftdrnoon. What a match! That excitement on Sturridge's face after the 2nd goal reminded me of Stevie G! Can and Lovren were boss tonight!! On to Basel!!!

Some thoughts -
They definitely tried to score a goal early to kill the tie off, and then pretty much weren't a threat at all.
Red Card was probably a bad call - iffy yellow for a second yellow - I'm just not a fan. Saying that, they were lucky to not already be down to ten. There should have been about 5 more yellows in the first half on their team. We were definitely in the heads.
There was some luck on all three of our goals - but we took our chances pretty well. Unlucky a few other teams, such as Lallana whiffing on the excellent pass from Milner.
Anfield was excellent - great to see it on those European nights.
One more win needed to get Champions League!
Finally - Can - what a player. He was terrific yesterday, showed very few ill effects. How he was able to sprint like that in the 89th minute was great to see - his conditioning has not suffered during his injury. I don't think there is any doubt about what he brings to our side. Yes he's young and can still hae some stinkers. But by God he is becoming a player you build a midfield around.
