Yeah basically...
Also still seeing we're working on bringing in ter Stegen, I've been pretty high on him for a while, think he's certainly an upgrade over Migs (and he's only 23!)

CONSIDER THE SOURCE...
But Sky Sports is reporting that West Ham are willing to pay in the neighborhood of 40M for Benteke.
If true... Wow. That would be a great deal for all parties involved. West Ham get a proven striker, albeit in bad form, Benteke gets a fresh start and pressure off his shoulders, and we come out 8M on top of the deal.
Want.

If that offer is actually on the table, they need to make it official ASAP haha, that would be perfect for everyone

Their owner came out yesterday and admitted to liking him, but said they couldn't afford his wages

hope I'm not jinxing it, but anyone getting their hopes up about Gotze?
Bayern not extending his contract, not getting playing time, comments about Klopp... connection to Klopp and needing to get his career back on track..
I know its a long shot and with anyone here but Klopp I'd dismiss it... but, I can dream..
I dont think its pipe dream at all. I was telling 5Deep that this past weekend. I read reports where Gotze admitted he and Klopp have been texting each other lately. Its looking like it will probably come down to us and BVB being the top options for him, so it really depends if he wants to come join his old coach, or rejoin his old squad.

The odds of him going back to BVB have to be almost zero. The way he left will never be forgotten by their fans

Not only that, he may just want a new experience... The only reason I have my hopes up is the Klopp factor. If we had any other coach, I'd have laughed it off..

Anyone thinking of making that west coast run to see us in California this summer?
I've done the last two summer tours and think I may just have to go again..

But that seems to be carry some serious weight here. Again, Gotze told reporters he and Klopp have been texting regularly lately. And like someone else stated, Gotze played outside at BVB, so the move would be a great for the squad if he could move around based on match to match needs of tactics/formation. Not to mention, he has kinda been just rotting away at Bayern, so I dont see him fetching a huge price tag or much interest from other sources. The way it reads right now, it almost seems like he is Klopps to lose.
Oh and if that Teke offer from West Ham is anywhere remotely true, we should accept it yesterday. Ive got to imagine he will draw some decent interest only a year removed from being THE man at Villa. I really feel bad for Teke because given the situation at hand now, he was dealt a crap hand. Im hoping to find a mutually beneficial transfer for all parties involved. West Ham would be that.

Cali will be tough for me this year. Already doing England in September, and somewhere islandy in June with the wife's family.

I live within 2 hours of the Rose Bowl and 4 hours of San Francisco. My dad actually lives about 100 miles southeast of San Fran... You bet your sweet arse that if I am not on vacation that week, I will be taking leave to watch us play AC Milan AND Barcelona.

Listening to Anfield Index -
Can is pretty much one of the top statistical defensive midfielders in the league AND at the same time, among the statistical leaders for a lot of the offensive categories as well for central midfielders. So he's pretty much a combination of Matic/Fabregas in one body. Obviously not necessary quite as dynamic as Cesc, but he's getting better daily.
I've come to the point where I beleive Can and Firmino are the two building blocks that we need to build the entire swuad around at this point. Cou can easily fit around a lot of other pieces as either the tip of a midfield 3 or playing out wide like he has so often.
But we need to cement Can and Firminkio in place, find guys that can be great players in the roles needed around them, and create a balanced squad out of it.

I think I agree with you, both should and likely will be foundation pieces of our squad moving forward

I've come to the point where I believe I am entirely too hastey in passing judgment on players - especially younger players. It's a very good thing I have zero say in what players the club employs.

You don't say that when talking about sky
Anyway the article says he has been identified as one of multiple players they would pay up to 40 million for mainly being lacazette so don't get too excited

Wow, anybody else hear/see these PSG and Sturridge rumors? Saw it on Twitter last night that PSG is targeting Sturridge to replace Ibrahimovic and putting a 45-50 mill price tag on him... Wow... That is tempting... What does the board do if thats true? Its being reported by a lot of sources now. Wow.
