Amen Bubba, I have not felt this confident in our future in a very long time.

Apparently Klopp tore into Benteke after the match was finished over that missed goal just before Southampton scored those goals.
I think Benteke will be gone this season, and we will eat the monetary loss. No way do we get what we paid for him, especially after his loss of form. I feel for him, because he was hung out to dry when the club went from Rodgers to Klopp.
Skrtel needs to go as well... Sticking with a CB, I have felt like Lovren is an emotional leader of this team this season. I may be alone in this, but I have wanted him to be our captain for most of this season.

I want him to follow Skrtel out the door... But, if Kolo and Skrtel go and we bring in younger guys, I'd be okay with him sticking around as cover... He's another we'd take a big loss on..

Idk, I think Lovren has really improved under Klopp... I don't necessarily want him gone yet... Kolo and Skrtel can GTFO, keep Lovren and Sakho, but I don't think Lovren should start.
The only guys I can really see being pegged as starters right now on teams moving forward:
Sturridge
Cou
Bob
Hendo
Can
Sakho
The other 5 spots are up for the taking should we find the right guys imo, I think Clyne can become a starter, but he's still wildly inconsistent to me

What has Henderson done on the pitch to cement a spot moving forward? Captain or not he has been a bum this season.

Right with you, minus Hendo... He has quality a lot of times, but his shots are wild and his passing is streaky. Love the guy to death because he bleeds LFC, but he just isn't LFC starter quality in my mind.
I would like to see us keep Origi and Ojo, however... I think both of them bring quality depth to the striker position.

Nothing he's terrible
There is a reason people chant at him he's just a shite Steven Gerrad. I've been telling you guys this about him for a while. Yes he has a good work rate but that's literally all he offers and he's a prick. If you're going to be a prick at least back it up with you play.
That sitter he missed vs United last week was really bad.

Hendo had two really good seasons leading up to this one... I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, in regards to his heel and form... But yeah, that doesn't mean he's undroppable from the starting eleven... Who knows, the armband could have been too much for him to handle, mentally...
He had 8 goals and 14 assists last season in all comps... while not earth shattering, clearly offers more than work rate..
Can he be improved upon in the transfer market? Without a doubt... However, I see bigger needs for us...

Just me, but Studge has a lot left to prove (since the injury) before he's a definite starter, and we need to get a striker that we can consider a number 1 that can play with or without him. Studge has no burst yet, disappears from the game for long moments, and can't be counted on from an injury perspective.
Cou and Bob and Can are definite, but Can needs sometime to put pressure on him and relieve him. Sakho needs a good back-up - he gets hurt way too often.
Hendo is good enough to be a part-time starter, but I don't think he should ever be a locked in starting XI type of guy. His heel may still be hampering him, but I don't think he'll ever be close to world class, and frankly, we need a better midfield to get where we want to go.

Yeah, I'd love to see Studge get left out of the Euro squad, so he can rest and get a proper pre-season...
I think Sakho can be a starter for us, but to your point, he always seems to miss quite a few games, due to injury... that's a bit of a concern, because he always takes a few games to get back to his best... that can be a concern over the course of a season..
Once Klopp gets his players I have to assume he is going to go to his favored 4231 formation... That leaves 2 CM positions.. It looks like Klopp wants to bring one is.. I think a healthy rotation would be great for the squad..

After yesterday, I think CB needs to be priority 1-50 come the summer window, though we have all been saying that for a while. We have 1 solid CB and 1 decent CB with Sakho and Lovren. Lovren has gotten a lot better under Klopp compared to how bad he was under BR. He seems to have less WTF moments, and seems to organize the back line well. With his young age, Id like to keep him and see if he can develop even more. But after those 2, we have nobody. As soon as Skrtel got on the pitch, we totally tanked as a back line. We were in the wrong spot at the wrong time, had bad angles on runs, and didnt mark anyone up really. It was pathetic. I understand Klopps reasoning for bringing Skrtel on, but unless Lovren was hurt, that move was a bad one to make. I understand wanting to get Skrtel some first squad playing time, but to bring him on for a full 45 when only up 2 in an away match against a club we sat tied with in the table was not wise. Especially if we had pipe dreams of pushing to top 4. Maybe give him the last 20 minutes if still up 2-0, but to give him a full 45 with such little recent chemistry with that back line was unwise. We need depth at CB, but it needs to be talented depth that can push the current starters to either take their level up a notch, or to unseat them in the starting 11. Also being able to give a starter a game to rest, and not see a significant drop off in onfield performance would be nice. Again, once Skrtel came on it was game over.
5Deep and I were texting in regard to Hendo, and I think he put it perfectly and bluntly. Hendo is good, but not great. If we want to continue to be a middle of the table club and be relatively competitive we can keep him, but if we want to reach the top 4 and be dominant, he will need to go. He has had a bad campaign, but he was never really that much better when at his best. He can and should be replaced.
After Skrtel and Hendo, I think we need to figure out a way to get something for Teke. He wont fetch top dollar, but rumor is that management wont let him go for anything less than 25 mill. Juventus is a rumored buyer, and I could see them paying something decent. I like Teke and think he has been dealt a crap hand, but he just doesnt fit Klopps style. I hope we can get something decent for him, and that he can go somewhere where he can thrive. Just crap timing for him at Pool really.
Migs was rather solid yesterday, but Im getting tired of the roller coaster night and day performances from him. Its like CB for me, we need to bring in a solid keeper to add depth, and to either push Migs to step it up, or replace him outright.
Overall yesterday was disappointing, but I hope we can get better and learn from it all.

Now being reported Klopp took out Lovren because of officiating. Lovren had a yellow, and with the ref playing into the home crowds emotional outbursts, it was a bad spot for our defenders, but we still needed to play to win. I disagree with making the move at half, but understand Klopps reasoning. In the 2nd half, the officiating was horrible. Can's yellow was a joke, and they let a lot of hard plays go on, while ticky tacky crap was carded. I hate games like that. Especially when the ref allows the crowd to dictate calls/cards.

It was unreal how we just folded in that game.
Looked like the entire defense couldn't be arsed to do shite. WTF. Granted the goals were pretty spectacular in nature, at least the first two, but jesus step to a man and make an attempt to disposess.
Of course all started by Benteke being shite.

I disagree. It started with Skrtel being shite. On the 1st goal, he didnt keep with his man, which allowed an open passing lane to Mane who put it away. The 3rd goal was the result of a flubbed clearance by Migs followed by a flubbed header by Skrtel. Also, it was Skrtel who committed the foul that awarded Southampton the PK, which Migs brilliantly bailed him out on. All 3 goals, to Southamptons credit, were spectacular goals, but the 1st & 3rd were set up by our poor play in our own half, not by their build up. Mane was lightning in a bottle for them in the 2nd half, and we had no answer for him. I think once Skrtel came on, it was obvious the defense folded heavily. Skrtel had a full half, Teke only came on in for the last 24 minutes.

Yea I mean that was a given about Skrtel but Benteke could have buried the game and as usual he chokes away a sure goal.
Skrtel was shite all game, and he seems passed it but Teke has got to bury that and kill off the game.
2-0 is always the most dangerous score in soccer.

Man, I guess I just don't get all the talk of selling Hendo... he is plenty good enough to be in a MF rotation.. even if he isn't a nailed on starter..
I'm ready to see Benteke go, but in fairness to him, I don't think that chance was a gimme... That's a tough shot and is missed all the time.. granted, its compounded by all the other easy ones he's fluffed.. Allen's was so much easier...

Ehh, I just don't see it this year. I'd take Lallana over Henderson. Hendo and Milner should be in the cup squads and subbing on if someone gets injured. Basically midfield Origis. Good enough to play English football but not good enough to start for a club with top 4 aspirations. Emre Can on the other hand, has potential to be world class one day. He has made tremendous strides this season. Henderson has seemingly done more harm than good this year. I can't handle many more bonehead passes to the other team. It's possible to make the top 4 with a weak link, Jesus Navas is probably worse than Jordan Henderson..I just don't think we should settle for someone of his caliber dictating the game in midfield.
Benteke just never got his confidence here, he struggled early with living up to the price tag and never recovered from that mentally. Time to cut our losses there.

This year, no... but he's proven he can play at a pretty high level. I agree that he can be improved on... but I think he can be in the rotation..
I think he can play a role, but will never be the star player..
IMO Can makes some boneheaded plays as well... Though I agree he has a higher ceiling..
Milner.. we're stuck with 3 more years.. His wages are way too high for any sane club to take on.
For the record, I'm not discounting your (or anyone's) opinion at all... I enjoy a healthy debate.. I obviously see he hasn't been at his best..
I'll admit that Lallana has improved a lot in 2016... He doesn't seem to dwell on the ball nearly as long as he used to.. I'm guessing that is directly coming from Klopp.. I hope he keeps playing well..

To be fair, Can does this a lot, too. The difference is that Can has the pace/power to make up for lost space while Hendo does not.
