I don't think Stevie is going anywhere... We should do what it takes to keep him as long as he understands it will be a reduced role...

Allen seems to be in Gerrards role fairly often thus far.

Brendan's ego is getting the best of him.
Trying to go with that 3-4-3 kinda thing in attack again, and I know he thinks he can fix Balotelli's problems by tinkering with tactics and trying to coach him up as a lone striker, but shite, just give him a damn partner. That's when good things have happened for us

I completely agree with you. Put borini on and slide Sterling in behind them.

I think I need to take a break from this team. There is really no point in watching them until Nov 23.

It ruins my weekend every fricking week. Brendan is driving this team into the ground. He's really starting to piss me off.

Does it have to get worse before it can get better?

Jesus Sturridge come back to us.

I'm over this. Hopefully we can just get past Madrid and Chelsea without feeling too much like shite and go from there

Chelsea may start their League Cup squad.

As dismal as we are playing right now, I still think we are one man away from being competent. I think we bought the wrong guys from Soton for what we are trying to achieve. Lovren had one good season playing behind Schneiderlin, and Wanyama. Maybe we should have left our center halves alone, and bought one of those two guys? Because I still truly honestly believe that if we had a proper DM, it solves the defense issue. And it frees up guys like Allen, and Henderson to take a more proactive role in the attack. Gerrard being the lone cover for a defense already in shambles just cripples the entire team. Passing back and forth between Lovren, Skrtel, Johnson, Gerrard, Skrtel, Lovren, Johnson just isn't going to do it.
So really BR's entire approach, with the guys he has right now, is just fricking wrong. If he can't see that, then I just don't know. At this point do you trust him to bring in the right guys? I sure fricking don't.

The only two teams in the league that don't play with a DM are Arsenal and Liverpool. Guess which two teams are number one and two in defensive errors this year?
Coincident? I think not. frick you Brendan, stop running this team into the ground.

Maybe the best option until Jan is to have a Lucas/Can rotation back there, and just ride it out.

The problem with January is that BR is going to be buying and he has shown no penchant for spending wisely. I can't believe how far we have fallen off from last year. I know we don't have SAS right now but I was expecting a hell of a lot more quality. Once again I will be in a shite mood until we play again.

I'll be in a shite mood until we win again. Our next chance at win will be on Nov 23, and that's quite a ways away.

I'll at least agree that we needed depth and I like that we got some younger guys for the future, but no more time for that. If we spend, we need impact and quality players that will slot in and make a difference on day one.
I don't think any of us expected to finish top 2 again this season (realistically) but we had a chance to really get momentum going to reestablish ourselves at the top of the league. There's still a long way to go and I'm patient in waiting for long term success, but we can't afford falling back out of top 4 again for too long.

truly is depressing watching each week, knowing deep down it will be the same whit until Studge gets back and/if we get a proper DM...
I mean, going in I'd have been happy with the point and then one lapse in concentration and we're down with no signs of pulling one back..
Last season, I said that AVB's main problem, was that he was too stubborn... BR showed his willingness to adapt last season, but it seems this season he has gotten a little too cocky in that sense.. By no means am saying he needs to go, but something needs to happen...

I contemplated not posting due to my anger/frustration, but I got to get this out.
Thoughts on the game -
Sterling was a non-corporal ghost. Zero threats from him. Nothing dangerous at all, and didn't look to care enough to be involved. He needs to sit and rest as he's clearly not able to go all in right now.
Balo - not quite good enough in the things he does do well to justify his place as the sole guy up top every single match, and definitely not enough movement for what we need. He has a few moments here and there, but doesn't execute the few opportunities that come his way or even move into the space he would need to in order to get the opportunities.
Moreno - tries hard, but doesn't have the focus or awareness yet to be elite. May never develop it.
Migs - terrible on two corners. Absolutely terrible. And we were lucky not to concede on one.
Overall, Rodgers is expecting certain players to adopt to his system rather than tinkering his system to adopt to the players. And thats a recipe for failure. Why he hasn't seen the easy first steps to correct this is beyond me.
We are playing less than the sum of our parts, and thats very frustrating.
