I was reading a rumor that in all the previous bids that Man City made, three different strikers were part of their attempts.

Now I obviously don't know the truth of that, but I don't know why in the blue hell we wouldn't have accepted a moderate money bid with a good striker.

City must REALLY want Sterling and his psycho agent bullshite.

Money + player deals are super uncommon so I'm not sure how much I believe that. And the only one I'd be ok with was Jovetic (assuming Aguero is untouchable) and he's no better than Sturridge when it comes to being made of glass

If we don't sell Sterling for 50 mil I'll be some kind of pissed. That's enough money to really play ball in the transfer window.

Particularly with Ibe on the roster. I'd trade Sterling for a bag of Cheetos if that's all anyone was going to offer

If we sell sterling for 50 and don't go all in for lacazette I will be disappointed. Doesn't mean we will get him but I think we need to make the overt effort. Apparently there are some wage issues for lacazette plus I'm sure France's taxes are killing him. Let's open the coffers and make him an offer he can't refuse.

Only issue is he wants a seamless year heading into euros so he can start for France.

Agree. He should be the top target.

KDB could be in play with an extra 50 mil towards the budget. I know his name hasn't been connected with Liverpool but he didn't rule out a move back to England.

Bacca and Firmino are quality, affordable options. Aubamayang has had his name come up recently as well. None of those have the killer instinct of Lacazzette though. When he gets his eyes on goal he puts his head down and rails it.

Lots of runors that we have taken the lead for firminio. 18m transfer.

I would be happy with this. Decent price. Should be a good player that can fit multiple roles along the front line.

Apparently we have people at Copa America who are watching him and have already met with his representatives. I hope this is true.

Now the iy sounds like the price has gone up into the twenties.

I still think it's a good buy due to his ability to play multiple roles- he can lead the line while Sturridge is hurt or play up top with him or as an attacking midfielder.

Everything I've read seems to say he's a priority and they want to get him signed soon. Also, we've been scouting Bacca and Rondon from Venezuela. Of the two, I'd prefer Bacca, but he'd be more expensive.

Not counting Clyne, which I imagine we'll push to get done, or a midfielder, which we may or may not go for, that's a lot of money spent potentially so I'm sure we're plannin in letting Sterling go after City's next bid.

So Spurs/Chelsea/Arsenal will snag him for 20-22m because we wouldn't pay the extra 4m?

Not expecting anything from our group of idiots running the transfers.

Finally we're nutting up. Looks like we paid 28million quid for him.

Good signing for sure. Now let's offload Sterling for 50M and call it a week in the window.
