I must say... credit to BR!! I was willing to sack him in early December... He still makes some questionable personnel decisions IMO, but hey, he works with these guys everyday...

I still hold that it would have been a huge mistake that would have set the club back another 5 years, we knew finding form with the new players and minus Suarez wasn't going to be easy (see Spurs post Bale), but now the new signings are settling in nicely.
Fortunately we still have two shots to make the CL:
Obviously finishing top 4, but I think they make a hard push for Europa given that the winner gets into the CL automatically

I agree in the sense that we would not have gotten who we wanted, and thats why I wasn't opposed to letting him see out the season either, but IF a De Boer or someone of that pedigree would have come, I would have been okay with it (even now)... barring a complete meltdown, I think he's survived this season and will be around for next, as he should... though I still am concerned about his decisions in the transfer market.. and not just the actual players, but in what he thinks our needs are... I'm a bit afraid that with our recent defensive record, that he will think what we have is good enough, when I think we're far from it...
But enough about all that, still happy of where we are at right now!

Three points off of the third spot. We have a real shot in the Europa and the FA. The Reds are in splendid form and have the ability this year to rest important players for important matches and still win. If you would have told me this not that long ago I would have called you a ridiculous Posi-Red! And the teams ahead of us are definitely not world beaters and I would much rather be us than United or Arsenal at this point in the season. YNWA.

I still think we're thin in midfield right now... which is weird, because it wasn't long ago that I thought we had way too many..

Missed the match this morning. Went to church and had catfish at a restaurant owned by legit Louisiana born cajun folk. Wore my LSU hoodie to church, jeans to... concealing bright red soccer socks. Had to represent.
That cannon shot by Coutinho was ridiculous. Reading about the match, it sounded sloppy enough that there was real danger early in the match of send-offs/penalties on Can. That would have been terrible timing. Definitely happy it worked out how it did.
Side note: Not really digging the alternates. Maybe it was the rain, or maybe Markovic is just an ugly SOB... but those things didn't look all that great.
In less than 4 weeks my fanhood will begin to be tested... The April 4 match against the Gunners will be a 0445 kickoff... I am gonna have to be up EARLY. May have to rely on you lads while I get things in order at the new place in California. Hopefully I can just transfer my Charter service out there. Haha
