yeah, i don't mind links to players that are unbelievable and all that crazy stuff... its kinda fun and helps pass the offseason...

I just want at least one big name done. Let it be known, let the guy come in and get to work integrating into the squad, etc.

If we're counting on Wisdom this year in any way, we're in trouble. I took it as a good sign that BR knows he'll be signing some guys on defense.

I mean its not like he's sold one of our two strikers before bringing in another during a window before, right?

In all serious, I think its a good move. Let Wisdom get a good amount of PT in the PL and see how he does and how he learns from it. We then get to figure out if he's up to snuff without having to test him on the field ourselves.

Is this a wage thing, or does he legitimately not want to go be their starting forward?

There are conflicting reports... some say its still on..

I believe he may want to stay and fight for a spot...

Well, he can stay and fight for a spot and potentially play on a team fighting for the top of the league and in the champions league, or play with a team fighting to stay in the premier league late last season.

I'm happy either way TBH. I'd admire him for taking on the challenge if he decides to stay. I love players who give their all and have a little extra fire in the belly. If he agrees to go, it's a nice profit.

Seems like Lovren is just a matter of time... Koeman has admitted he is likely to leave and they are lining up Vlaar as a replacement...

I like the move and if we did nothing else in central defense... I'd be comfortable going into the season with Sakho, Lovren, Skrtel and Agger... I'd say it would give us as a deep of a collection of CBs as anyone in the EPL...

In regards to RMs surplus players...

Some are reporting we have requested Isco on loan

Also, apparently di Maria turned us down initially, but has now requested to open up talks...

I would def prefer the latter... but wouldn't turn down Isco on loan..

Borini and Pepe both on the plane to the US of A.. interesting..

edit: apparently Borini is hoping he gets a UCL team to match Sunderland's offer, so he's in no hurry.. Poyet is confident..

Isco is incredibly underrated. Given consistent playing time he could develop into one of the best in the world.

Nah he's just involved in the Madrid hype machine. I'd honestly be surprised if Madrid let him go. Isco is a Spanish national. I can't think of too many players they've jettisoned who were Spanish and about to be in the prime of their career. Di Maria and Khedira are completely understandable. Isco wouldn't be.

yeah, I rate him highly, but would prefer di Maria... just think he offers something different to our team (we'll prob get neither)...

Anyone else hear all the Liverpool fans boo McIlroy when he mentioned United in his victory speech at the British Open?

ETA: Here is the video

That would be surprising, considering they reportedly already turned down our 20mm bid for him.

yeah, the initial reports say 20mm euros, which could have been an error and they meant pounds (Barret is now saying pounds)...

I think they did turn us down initially, but I'm always a little skeptical of prices quoted... could've been Xmm + add ons that could reach 20mm... maybe we just upped the up front money..

edit: others are saying £16mm rising to £20mm... still doubles what SOTON paid for him... I'm happy either way..

I watched him pre-Madrid. Their hype machine played no part in my evaluation of his talent.

Meh.

Not a fan but if he's a red I'll support him.
